Congrats to the winner!

I comfortably reached both my goals (profit and not finishing last). Everybody except Timothy Dupont (who took 91,5% of my budget) turned a profit. Having just 75 points left for 14 out of my 15 picks was a lot of fun, and I got a kick out of the succesful seasons of Alex Frame and Jasper Philipsen. However, next year I'll probably be submitting a more traditional team. August Jensen at 464 points will be the most expensive eligible rider. That's not as fun as Dupont.

Thanks for hosting the game LaFlo! Now that Contador has retired, I'm looking forward to see you finally being competitive in the main game! :D

After my glorious 5 points I still managed to finish in the top ten. :) Nice result. Congratulations CraZyCaLL, thanks to LaFlorecitia for putting the game together and all the other you contributed with updates or with submitting a team. :)

Hello all

A little info about the 2018 edition of this game:

1) I would not mind doing (most of) the updates again next year, as long as you all don't mind the updates being up a little later in the week. I'm busy with lots of other things besides cycling so I often only find time to do an update in the 2nd half of the week. I didn't hear any complaints about it this year, but I want to make sure this is not an issue.

2) I'm guessing I can still count on the usual suspects to help out with an update every now and then (snccdcno, search, DJW), of course all help is welcome so if you wouldn't mind doing 1 or 2 updates next year, let me know. Updating the spreadsheet is not complicated at all, most of the time goes into writing the update which could take anywhere between 15 to 60 minutes depending on the level of detail and how focused you are at the time of writing :D

and most importantly 3)...

I will be away from 23rd of December to 8th of January... the Australian championships take place from January 3rd to January 7th. So there are two options:
- either someone else needs to collect the teams during this period AND process them... while I don't want to discourage anyone, I have to be honest and say this takes quite a bit of time because you have to make sure all riders are eligible
- or we push the deadline back 1.5 week, the Tour Down Under starts January 14th, the deadline would be perhaps 24 hours before the start of the first stage. This means you could in theory select a rider that scored in the Australian national championships and get a headstart, but that shouldn't have too much of an impact on the final rankings, I believe.

I prefer the 2nd option because it seems unlikely to me anyone will volunteer to process the teams - of course there is a third option which is that all teams are send to me before the 3rd of January and I process them when I get back, however considering how often I have to get back to people and tell them to change an ineligible rider I don't think this would be a good idea

Hi Flo and thanks for organizing as always! LosBrolin and I are working on our selections already.

2) sounds perfectly fine to me, and in the very unlikely event the victory is decided by inclusion of a rider who scored in the Aussie nats - we can go the TdF-route and just asterisk it :D

Maybe there will be an early revelation a la Gaviria 2015, most likely there won't be, but even if there is, everyone gets the same chance to pick him. Post Aussies sounds fine to me, and whoever goes to the bother of arranging the game gets to choose what suits them (that's the principle I operate under...)
