Cool
Well, city of that size there should be some reputable locals who specialise in wheels, but if not being in the States will see a whole bloke of people within an easy phone call, it is not like you are in Bolivia

Green hubs, trippy, maybe Tune - they have a good range of colours, not 100% sure but they definitely have far out things like Orange
Sapim make green Alu nips and white spokes (but White cost double Silver!)

(BTW I know people who have bought hubs ,stripped them then anodised in what ever colour they needed)

Haven't seen ONE custom wheelbuilder here. Lots of shops, but no custom wheelbuilder. I'm not originally from here, as I am Europe-born and lived on the US East coast for years, so maybe there are some hidden ones, but I doubt it.

My friend bought his custom MTB set from a builder in Texas. From what I see, RDV knows his stuff, so I'll have him build a set. No real idea what I want though, except it can't be carbon as I almost ate it on a descent when the snow runoff killed my brakes.

It's Giuseppe Magnetico now! GM, G, or Sepp for short. RDV converted to Italianism!!!:D

that is quite sad, Melbourne is 4 million people and there would be a good 10 that I know that can do a decent job and 4 that i know that are world class, ex pro level

RDV, as we will always remember him seems to have his head screwed on. It is not like he is going to take a punt on his builds, you will never be the lab rat

Wanna spill the beans on who the top 4 Melbourne guys are????

I'd hazard a guess that Dan at Shifter Bikes is on the list. But I'm from Perth so I'm only basing that on a visit to his shop back in February and what I've heard and read elsewhere.

No idea who the others might be though

My top 4
Shifter Dan, obviously, that is everyone's default Best
Paul at Astroboy
Justin from Bike Beyond
At the moment I am using Crino because the sponser my club and I win a few vouchers. They have a bloke there who did my training wheels (bit better than trainers Record hubs, Sapim Race and Reflex tubs), I can’t remember his name, it is not Tony or John, it is not Joel Pearson, who does some spanners. Anyway, they have held up well for a 90kg sprinter with good even tension and I would have no problems with sending someone there (and I will go back myself) considering this is a very light rim with a known issue with cracking if you get it wrong...

After that Abbotsford Cycles have a good rep as well as does Daryl at Cyclescience, but I haven’t used him since Noah was a boy, Glen Waverly is a long way out for me. Griffon who does the SRAM support van and has a mobile mechanic Nolimits or something like that, I know guys who swear by him

Careful - starting a secong account to do so will get you banned...

That doesn't apply if one of those accounts wasn't already banned for any length of time, then its perfectly acceptable

Or if you kiss you know who's you know what, then again perfectly acceptable
