    Tirreno -Adriatico

I'm sad they took out the Montelupone stage - I thought this could become a signature climb for the (otherwise sprinter's) race. Maybe the Italians couldn't stand a Spaniard (Rodriguez) winning year after year. I hope Petacchi rides - I would like to see he and Cav mix it up with the rest of...

    Montepaschi Strade Bianche, Saturday

Beautiful race, one of the few races beyond the cobbles I love to watch in the early part of the season. Ryder Hesjedal is my prediction to win. 10th two years running, he's proven he can handle the gravel roads and I hope Garmin will give him the chance to go for it himself.

    Omloop Het Nieuwsblad

Cyclingnews live coverage originally called EBH for second place. guess they got carried away in the excitement - though I hope they'll tone down the Sky cheerleading a bit.

    Omloop Het Nieuwsblad

I seem to remember QS dominating Kuurne last year after an underwhelming performance in Omloop Het Volk. Could be the same again.

Classy interview from Flecha after an impressive ride.

That looked like Hushovd coming in 1:30 behind, I wonder what happened?

Haussler's done. I'll be happy for Flecha, always an exciting, if unlucky, rider.

    Omloop Het Nieuwsblad

Hilarious. Could this be the start of another bad spring for Lotto?

    Omloop Het Nieuwsblad

Brutal for Nuyens... he looked back hoping to see the team car for a wheel change, instead he sees the large chase group bearing down on him. Finally Leezer gave him a change.

    Omloop Het Nieuwsblad

I was just about to say how bad the roads looked before Boonen went down. Like the roads around me... Nuyens looked really strong going across, too.

    New Canadian Cycling Team?

The Globe and Mail reported this morning that Canadian cycling legend Steve Bauer has acquired the support of billionaire Jim Balsillie to start a new Canadian cycling team, with the goal of competing in the Tour de France in the next few years. According to the article, an email from Lance...

Which team had the best transfer season? And the worst?

Maybe this should be a poll, but I don't know how to create one, so... My nominations for best transfer season: 1) Caisse d'Epargne - they didn't get a chance at Contador, but I think Cobo is a strong addition, and Bruseghin and Soler are due for rebound years. Losing Rodriguez will hurt...

    Canada, eh?

I'd forgotten about Michael Barry. He did a strong ride at the Olympics last year too (finished 9th, maybe 8th if Rebellin is stripped of silver). And Svein Tuft did a great ITT in Beijing, finishing 7th. So maybe we'll have a chance for the worlds this year.

Carlos Sastre - Who else for the Hall of Fame?

I've liked Sastre for a long time. He seems talented yet humble, and can usually be counted on to make a GT interesting in the mountains. He's always struck me as more normal than other GT favourites (although I'm not willing to say clean). While calculating, he's not afraid to attack, but he...
