But tomorrow freire is racing, I think. Redemption for Rabobank?

Boonen will want to show he's the strongest this weekend. I can't see Freire winning Kuurne.

Anyway, some things to take home for the future:

-Sky's classics team is as good as was expected
-QS on the whole doesn't have the form they had last year
-Gilbert is human
-Belgian TV have hired the director from Cloverfield to do their camerawork

I think he is a little behind in training, I am thinking for a peak slightly later (LBL; Amstel) in the classics season. Boonen and Felcha are further already

For Gilbert there's only a few races that count, starting with Sanremo. That considered he should have been better today, I think.

In all the pre-season talks he's mentioning Sanremo more than any other race. Sanremo to Luik is more than a month, so I'm guessing his planning isn't going as well as it should be.

I seem to remember QS dominating Kuurne last year after an underwhelming performance in Omloop Het Volk. Could be the same again.

you cant underestimate Farrar, great ride from him again.

Flecha is a solid rider, and a great pick by Brailsford. Hayman was doing well also.

Okay, I will be the homer and say that the ride by Farrar was impressive for him. I didn't expect to see that, nor does it seem too many others either. I did see on the prediction thread that maybe one or two did, and I thought "Yea, sure!" Oh well, I won't be getting any Haussler schwag.

Where did Farrar come from? I would never have expected that from him?

Not surprised at all with Flecha and happy Haussler landed on the podium.

Farrar for the classics in the coming years? Or is 260km+ on a course like this too much for him?

Cyclingnews live coverage originally called EBH for second place. guess they got carried away in the excitement - though I hope they'll tone down the Sky cheerleading a bit.

Just accept it.

Farrar lives in belgium, doesn't he? That's got to be an advantage in these races, and I think I remember him saying RvV is his favourite race? Could remember that wrong, but I think it was in procycling magazine last year. Don't know that he'll ever win it, but he does seem to be suited to cobbles.
