Teams & Riders Nairo Quintana discussion thread

Well, he's probably better than Froome was less than a year and a half ago, so really not that long at all...

    Watching on Mont Ventoux?

Has anyone here got any experience of watching the tour from Mont Ventoux? I'll be there so looking for any tips people have regarding - when to arrive, where to park (both if planning on walking to the stage monday morning, or alternatively arriving the night before), where to watch, what...

    Huge leads in GCs

Am going to be on Ventoux on Sunday (well I have a car, sleeping bags, my wife, and a few maps... so hoping to be anyway) so hopefully someone can light up the race to try to avoid a procession :)

With what advantage Christopher Froome will win the Tour?

Biggest winning margin (since 1947): 28 min 27 sec (Fausto Coppi--Stan Ockers in 1952) Maybe he'll try to crack that?

    Huge leads in GCs

But why are there no other close contenders? Don't remember this before really, even in the Armstrong years. Contador, who many on here view as unbeatable, was never as dominant as Froome this tour (so far i'll hasten to add).

    Huge leads in GCs

Ok... should have said "keeping it out of the clinic" Maybe it's because 2 of the top riders are on the same team, and others are picking and choosing their GCs (e.g. Nibali may be closest to Froome if he was here) Bit of a shame really.

    Huge leads in GCs

What is with one rider being head and shoulders ahead of any rivals on GCs lately (Wiggins last year, Froome this year, Nibali in Giro)... thing in these guys are not just dominating one discipline (e.g. climbing) or not-the-best-at-any-but-ok-at-all-of-them (e.g. Cadel Evans), but they are...

    Tour De France General thread.

Looks like a huge lead for Froome. What is it with recent GCs and being completely dominated from the beginning early on (Wiggins, Nibali, Froome).

    Hollow victory.

The other sprinters' teams were more than capable of keeping up... shame that Cav and co themselves couldnt hey ;) Was nice to see the Peleton actually do something different for a change after last years' tour de every stage exactly the same

Realistic chances of getting to the TdF over the coming weekends

Hi All, I happen to be living in London at the moment (usually in Aus) and had hoped to jump across to see the TdF this year (will prob have returned home by next year's race). I had intended to spend a few days in France, likely early next week, but work commitments have unfortunately put...

2012 Tour de France: Stage 11: Albertville → La Toussuire - Les Sybelles (148km)

Actually hate them less... at least they showed some quality towards the end
