The 2025 CQ Ranking Manager Thread

Pretty much every other year i remember to get my CQ team in before the deadline with hopes of possibly reaching mediocrity. Here’s the 2025 crop and why I thought they were good picks… VAN AERT Wout - must get a clean run and some big wins this year, right? VINGEGAARD HANSEN Jonas - even...

Good spot - thanks for the info. Feeling a lot better about picking him now!

ProCyclingStats doesn't have a team listed, but on closer inspection the UCI site still has him at Drone Hopper - Androni. In that case he could still be a decent enough pick (edit - So does the team website - Grosu should be ok)

So why not join in with the team self-analysis? I've broadly got 4 categories: The ones everyone picked (Alaphilippe, Bernal, Schachmann, Asgreen, Pidcock) The should bounce back ones (Haig, Stuyven, Lutsenko, Halvorsen) The youngsters who should kick on (Honore, Martinez, L Hayter, Mihkels...

Can’t believe I’m top 10!? In all my previous years I was somewhere near the bottom. This year I was pleased with 22nd in the first week, psyched with 15th last week, and amazed at top 10 this week! I know it can’t last, if for no other reason than I didn’t get around to replacing Dumoulin.

Re: Re: Thanks man - that was exactly my thinking. That and the cool name. Or just the cool name. It was mostly the cool name.

Unique picks: BOEM Nicola - it just takes one giro stage to smash this. He has the ability, but not sure he can pull it off. MARKUS Barry - once upon a time he looked like a sprinting talent, he could well double ZHAO Jingbiao - I had 34 points left, this guy was 33 and has a cool name. Plus...

Oh dear, it turns out I can't count. I have 4 carry-overs from last years team, and two others that I've had in previous years. I just can't leave out the fat Colombian, just in case.

    My annual post - CQ team is in. It contains... 6 ita 3 col 1 pol 1 kaz 1 spa 4 gbr 2 slo 3 ned 1 cze 2 rus 1 rus 1 aus 1 USA 1 nor 1 ire 3 ger 1 cro 1 chi 25 world tour, 7 pro continental and 1 continental riders. I think there's one safe bet for a unique rider. I have 5 >500 and 10 <100. My...

Thanks skid mark for all the work. For what it's worth here's my team and my thinking..... As little of it as there is. EWAN Caleb - had a good year last year and at that age should get better. Better enough, we'll see VAN GARDEREN Tejay - unfortunate when performing excellently last year...

3 things I'm looking forward to finding out... How many people decided nibali was worth the big price Have I managed any unique riders (seems unlikely this year) Who is the obvious pick that I've somehow missed

My team is now submitted - forgot to enter last year, and was pretty average the year before. Not holding too-high hopes for this year, but top 100 is realistic I guess! 4 Aussies, 2 Belgians, 4 Colombians, 1 Dane, 3 Frenchies, 4 Germans, 2 Irish, 3 Dutch, 1 Slovenian, 3 Spaniards, 1 Slovak &...

'And with that Vincenzo nibali joins a list of all the great names in becoming the only man to win all the grand tours' Or words to that effect. Just remarkable contradiction within one sentence

I think commentators notes are organized alphabetically, so they never get down to the last page to talk about him.
