Had my team confirmed today.
1st version contained a rider who won't race next year  I guess Skidmark had not yet processed that team though. Made some changes but my team was a few points over-budget oops  so made a change again and now I have 8 Frenchmen
Stats
Average age 27.3
8 Frenchmen 4 Italians 4 Americans 4 Germans 2 Swiss and 7 nations 1 rider
1 rider 1000+
4 riders 500-1000
15 riders <100

1 rider has scored above 2000 before
Another 7 riders have scored above 1000
And 10 more riders have scored above 500

Just like Vladimir no UK or Sky riders :)

I should have submitted my first team. Now I have probably 7th version and I keep flipping riders in and out of my list of 52 riders. Just cant make up my mind. The usual problem is picking with your heart instead of just pure game value.

My team is now submitted - forgot to enter last year, and was pretty average the year before. Not holding too-high hopes for this year, but top 100 is realistic I guess!

4 Aussies, 2 Belgians, 4 Colombians, 1 Dane, 3 Frenchies, 4 Germans, 2 Irish, 3 Dutch, 1 Slovenian, 3 Spaniards, 1 Slovak & 5 Yanks.

10 neo-pros!

I have made up a team with 9 cyclists I've jheard of and 20 that I know diddly squat about.
I notice that people seem to be interested in this kind of thing so 2>1000>5>500>2>100>6>50>14
Total score 799

If I'm not last it will be a miracle.

So I done submit my team as well. I don't really know what to expect this year. I got some more expensive picks that I used to do which in turn caused me to be a little creative picking a lot of obscure low pointers, who I don't really know. Oh well, at least it will be interesting this year I think.

1 pick of >1000
4 picks of 500-1000
3 picks of 300-500
8 picks of 100-300
17 picks >100

Average age is 24.7

Italy, Colombia and France have the most picks with 5 each.

I didn't pick anybody from Asia.

To be honest I'm just hoping I didn't miss any obvious must have picks, like I usually tend to do. :p

EDIT Okay lol I already found a good pick who I overlooked completely up until now, sorry Skidmark, gonna have to submit another one! :p

Hi All,

Long time lurker on the forum, finally joined to play this game. It seems I'll have to get my post count up before I can submit my team.

I'm looking forward to a fun road season, good luck in the game everyone and thanks to skidmark for organising.

Hey folks, five days left! Here's a New Year's Eve (at least it still is in Canada) update:

- 43 teams are in; everyone is under budget, including those teams I asked to make changes. Note that the 'official' game score is based off CQ's December 31st update (if it comes out in time; I'm currently using their latest which is November 22nd) but there have never been significant changes to the latest one in the past, so I'm hoping for the same this year (but if you have a random rider on a CT team who's in the Tour of Egypt or something, it may affect your team score).

- of the 43 teams, 29 were submitted through cyclingnews and 14 through velorooms.

- 27 teams played last year, 16 teams are 'new' this year (either have never played or just didn't last year).

Thanks to everyone that's participated so far!

Another thing to address - indeed new users are supposed to post at least 10 posts to the boards before they can send a PM. However, it seems that users that were signed up before the site update can still send PMs even if they don't have 10 posts, as some longtime game players are sending messages and they are getting through. But I have also confirmed that VeloRooms does not have such a restriction, so if you just want to create an account to sign up for this game, you can do it there without posting.

That's it for now. See you in 2016!

What's the green jersey comp? I haven't played in a couple of years and I don't see a description of it in this thread.

Sorry, I forgot to include that in the opening post. As Flo said, it's a side competition that tracks high scorers every week and accumulates scores for high weekly placings all year. I will try to write up a description and add it to the main post.

Is no-one else considering Landa?
Maybe people are considering him, but why would they tell you? ;)

Well, I'm pretty sure you just told us you got Nibali. At least, I assume he is the rider over 1000 (unless it is Kwiatkowski?)

Quick update - the 12.31 ranking spreadsheet for CQ is out, and none of the points/changes since November have affected any teams, ie. if you're one of the 43 teams already in, you are officially at or below 7500 points for the game. The 'Create Your Team' spreadsheet in the opening post has been updated to reflect these standings, so please use the new file to check your team before submitting, and everything should be fine.

I think it's safe to assume that that rider is someone completely different...

Pardon, a correction - there are two teams that are over the limit, due to the inclusion of a rider whose cost is higher due to his true cost being a previous year because of a doping suspension. I manually changed that rider's value, but the previous iteration of the spreadsheet didn't read the new value so I'm just catching it now. Nicosix and Axis, I've sent you both PMs, but in case you don't check them, please do so and make the necessary changes to your team in the next five days. Thanks.
