I was wondering how NTT or UAE did not offer him a contract, I guess that makes sense.
He was prominent in breaks and an outside bet for winning in lesser breaks (he was twice second in Vuelta stages and has several Top10 finishes in other breaks), as well as being a reliable domestique.

Yeah, but I mostly remember Pibernik for that occasion, and I would have loved to see him get a big win after that, but it wasn't to be. Slovenia didn't suffer too much though.

He won a stage in Eneco Tour, though, so at least he was able to celebrate something. Funny enough (i just re-watched the final sprint of that stage), he never lifted his arms in that stage.
