A lot of fast guys.
Pedersen probably fastest but wouldn't count out Hofstetter, Swift, GVA, EBH or even Keukeleire.

God I've missed races during the winter break :)

Vine, Vermote, Colnaghi and Wisniowski are all definitely wrong.

And somehow they miss Carapaz on that list...

Yeah, Pedersen could be one to watch for MSR...
Nice to see Bettiol starting the season well after his health problems.

Judging by the comments, it looks like it was a great stage with a lot of fun racing. Hopefully it's on Tiz so I can watch it later.

I've always loved this race. It usually provides fun stages and long range attacks on the traditional Besseges stage

This year I think they got a bit carried away with the MTF / uphill finishes though. I would skip tomorrow's finish and have a traditional sprint instead, and flip the order of Bouquet and the usual Besseges stage.

As for the stage, it's great to see Hagen turning back the clock. If Total had saved him (I think he was the one pulling the most with Wisniowski on the break) he might have had a chance to take the win. And Bettiol has a nice chance for GC now.

Watch Ganna make front group on Bouquet now he's still in GC... :grimacing:
If now that he hasn't track training hampering him he has got his climbing legs back a top 10 in this field wouldn't be surpring with the climbing level he has shown during the 2020 Giro. But apperently a couple of days ago he has said to the Gazzetta that he has done specific works to give a shot to Roubaix so probably is still not at his best. Anyway he also said that after Roubaix he's going to drop weight and work on his climbing for the Tour and Tosatto said that they'll give total freedom to him in France so prepare yourself for July because could be that they'll turn him into the missing GC rider.

On the december training camp he smashed one of their short training climbs on la Palma towards the end of a long ride.
1.62kms at 6.6% in 3:23, with an average of 586W. That was after over 4.5 hours of riding and on the 12th ascent of that climb.

The guy's engine is just out of this world.

Today's finish is 1.6 kms at 6.4%, would be interesting to see what he could do if he'll try to go for the sprint. In the past he has already showed some aptitude for punchy finishes even when he was nowhere near his current level, think for example of his 4th place in Lago Punta Negra at the 2018 Vuelta San Juan.

Lol, what's up with the categorisation of the first "climb" of the day? 2.1 kms at 0.7%... I don't think that quite qualifies as a climb...

Impressive from Halland Johannessen to be up there between the sprinters and puncheurs. Finish was a little easier than I expected but still surprising that Coquard and Pedersen went first and second, both clearly on very good form.
