Shack and Rabo setting up Cav's win.

They have a sprinter loaded team here, but they're second level. A little safer at the front on these approaches. I am sure Horner does not want to get his head stove again anytime soon, but your right, it works well for Cav.

Flecha DNS yesterday with hand injury!

Not great timing for him ahead of the classics.

It's minor as well as it's a precaution to take him out today I think. Better not to risk it.

One of the only Raboriders with actual form...

I guess they have to drink the entire poisoned lake till it is completely empty

Things seem to have got worse and worse ever since you started the thread saying how well they do.

Two hours wasted watching that borefest, only to find out that Matthews isn't going to be raking in the cq points at M-SR.
WTF were the Bus doing on the front with over 5kms to go, only to end up crashing into each other, half way down the peloton, 3 kms later?
Rabo really are the Keystone Kops of sprint trains.

Oh and Columbia Coldeportes go from strength to strength.

A crash would take some additional time to sort the results.

I don't see how. they should just take the time with 3 k to go and the rest of the result how they pass to the finish

Just now saw the last 5ks. Hard fought & fast. Hard to get everything right. Really tough to beat Cav unless timed just right I think...re: Freire & Farrar. RNS keeping out of trouble as much as possible with Cancellara. Horner: doubtful he will surprise, but the stage 4 finish profile suits him.

Cavendish: "In the final Edvald did 1500 metres in the wind, just keeping me protected. Then with 200 metres to go Farrar hit the front and I was able to sprint to the finish. I’m super, super happy, that was an incredible job by the guys today."

Edvald pretty much had to do the work of 3 men as the other Sky riders were a bit lost. Looking at the final, you can see that Edvald hit the wind really early since he had to get Cav in position from a long way back, then he remained in the wind to keep Cav in position before he gave him Farrar's wheel. No wonder he was too cooked to do a "traditional" leadout. I guess Sutton was caught up by some crash or something since he was nowhere to be seen, but if he's there tomorrow then we'll certainly see an a lot more effortless win for Cavendish.

Matthews is listed, although he didn't finish. Maybe he can still start tomorrow, as he doesn't appear to be seriously hurt (just bruises, few stitches).

He must have crossed the line last over 11 mins down as he's listed in last place but given same time as winner. The stage results are listed in order of crossing the line and there are a few +0 held up in the crash in amongst all the stragglers-maybe part of the delay in the results was deciding who'd been held up and who'd just been dropped..

He's still listed in the GC so seems he's eligible to start tomorrow if he's up to it.

That's the point, he didn't actually cross the line. But apparently the race jury is lenient.
