Wow, Polish... Must say - I've started to a higher and higher degree sniffing out your posts whenever I'm suffering from an acute giggle deficiency. This one, though, really takes the cake. So basically because some celebrities like to be seen around, hang out and rub elbows with other celebrities - we can safely assume that this celebrity would not have done what many others in metier did? And don't get started about the "hundreds of riders" who also are reluctant to admit their past...

Are you guys really taking Polish's post seriously? He is joking about the character witness thing.

Besides, Daly wasn't talking about character witnesses, he was talking about former teammates (which may be in the hundreds) that will support his story or say that the tattle-tales are making crap up. I wonder what Ekimov would say?

There are millions of people who never saw Lance dope. there are thousands of cyclists who never say Lance dope. If they want to base their defense on that, good luck.

The logic behind that defense is so weak. Character witnesses usually only help get your sentence reduced.

The "character witness" angle is weak, I agree. That was just a hypothetical on my part.

Daly would not be concerned with the need for character witnesses. This will not go to trial. It is a witch hunt. A waste of scarce resources. Showboating.

So Daly says for each 2 or 3 former team mates who say "Lance made me dope waa waa", Daly could produce 20-30 former team mates that would say "that is hogwash". Eki and many many others would take responsibility for their own actions. Would not try to place blame on others. And many team mates did not see Lance dope. Team mates without axes to grind.

According to Mr Brian Daly

"To the extent that any riders are suggesting that Lance Armstrong violated cycling rules or doped, they are either mistaken or not telling the truth. Lance has ridden with hundreds of riders over the years who will support his position, and over all that time he has never failed even a single test."

Gotta admit I agree with Mr Daly.

Lance could line up a GREAT list of character witnesses...

Eddy, Big Mig, Jan, Wiggans, Basso, maybe even a recent Simeoni lol.
I think even Alberto would stick up for Lance.
Schlecks and Cadel too.
And that is just scratching the suface cycling wise.

Imagine the character witnesses from around the world.
Clinton. Bono. Gupta. Holey moley so many other. Hundreds. Thousands.

Won't be long until some major backlash to this witch hunt starts to show.
And it is only August lol. Plenty of time to PEAK.

You forgot the Olson twins, Kate Hudson and Shawn Hannity.

Lance's lawyer knows better than to present character witnesses on behalf of his client. It will open a very big door for the govt to present a lot of ugly stuff.

grasping at straws.. This "article" isn't even news. What a joke.
LA's attorney says something barely quotable. Wishful thinking does not a truth make...

This sounds like all those riders Armstrong was going to get to say that LeMond used EPO. That worked out well.

One would think they'd already be clamoring to bring an end to this injustice (or at the very least, take the spotlight off cycling "for the collective good"), no?

Armstrong must have them all sequestered in a cave just outside Boulder, waiting for Daly's cue to release them...

Lance is so beyond the peloton. Clinton and Bono will say this if Lance wills it.

I know you didn't mean it - but what your post has shown is that absolutely no-one has come forward to say what a great guy and team leader Lance was.

Where are all the people that Lance gave envelopes to after the Tour with "double" their prize-money, as a gift from an appreciative leader?
Or all the people he gave expensive watches to?

Poor guy - not only did Johan hire bitter people who came in with their own axes to grind, who started doping behind their backs - they were an ungrateful bunch to.

Yep its official - having faith in Lance is the same as him not doping. Thanks Chris. Oh and why you're telling us Lance is a good guy just remind everyone that you weren't on the team when that crazy stuff might have allegedly gone down.

Chris Horner sang a much different tune when he wasn't employed by Armstrong and his career didn't depend on toeing the party line.

Yeah, I thought they didn't get along before.

Yeah, I thought they didn't get along before.

I guess Chris, Lance, and the lawyers are hoping no one has heard of Google:

An interview with Chris Horner, August 17, 2007

"I read what Lance has said about the sport, and it is just ridiculous to read something so stupid, from a guy who has made his career off the sport. Now they can't find a sponsor and say they are pulling out just because they don't want to look for one? I don't believe it. You tell me Lance is giving up money? He raced his whole career looking for it, because he was a businessman more than the love of the sport. Now he is telling us that it isn't a good place for the sport so we are pulling out. Are you really telling me that?

"It makes it a bit tougher for guys like myself, but at the same time I don't see that too many of those guys affect me. But some riders might not have jobs next year, assuming that more teams don't come in. Or they won't be with a ProTour team. That's a possibility, and that might be me too! Because Lance wants to get out of the sport he is going to unemploy half of his team. Personal opinion again, but that has to be the biggest bull**** story I have ever read!"

An interview with Chris Horner, June 29, 2005

"No - he's always been taken care of. He's always had it easier and better than the other riders. He was always the leader since the beginning; he was always bred to be the leader of the team - this is fact, I'm not guessing this - and what he said, went. From the moment he signed with Motorola, he was the leader of that team."

"If he wanted to do six [hours' training], he got to do six, and they worked around it. If the mechanics had to clean the bike at midnight, they'd clean the bike at midnight, and if he needed a massage at one o'clock in the morning, he got it at one o'clock in the morning."

Pretty soon, the line will change to "...we've got tens of riders to support Mr Armstrong."
