this surely looks promising at the moment. arredondo and boaro reconnecting after the climb would be a nice bonus, provided they are willing to work.

Arredondo has not looked good for the entire season so far. He does seem to struggle every time the pace is high, seems like he lacks power in his legs.

Very, very good so far :)

Have we reached the critical threshold of good racing yet where even if there is, gasp, a sprint, there won't be outrage?

No.
And outrage can always happen. For example, if Valverde wins.

If there's a sprint, that probably means Astana and everybody else decided to let the setup go to waste. Yes, it would be pathetic of all those teams that need to attack.

You'd do well to stop implicitly strawmanning the arguments of those who complain. They don't do it for the sake of it, and they're perfectly willing to acknowledge a good race.

The 2011 ronde ended in a 3 way sprint with more than 10 guys reaching the last k. I would give an arm for this race to be as good as that... Well at least the tip of a finger... Maybe a nail <-<

A collective attack in the Ardennes from a team in light blue, that old staple...

Am I wrong or is Cycling News comparing Astana to Gewiss? :D

The complaint that the racing is bad because there's no entertainment being provided up to the sprint simply cannot work when there is entertainment being provided but it still ends in a sprint. The sprint cannot magically undo people presumably starring their their screens with interest, watching things unfold from way out.

Not saying Netserk is making that complaint.

Matt White saying Gerrans is a couple of weeks away from top form and he should be back at his best for the first week of the Giro.
