Very impressive that, despite clashing with the Euros which suits the same kind of rider, they've still managed to attract one of the best fields of any non-WT race this year.
This one just has the certainty and predictability of truly being a climbing race. The Euro's is way less of a pure climbers race IMO, and if there would be a golden mean race where all of Pogacar, Vingegaard, Roglic, Evenepoel, Van Aert and Van der Poel had a non 0% chance this EC RR would be pretty close to it.

Not sure if there is a single rider to drop all the others. Wouldn't be surprised if it's a sprint where Del Toro or Pidcock wins.

I think the bigger factor is which of the two Pogacar has picked, because the other of the two by default becomes the far more winnable one for everyone else.

Del Toro seems like a good pick. Seems on great form right now, and he's got the talents to take advantage of this course. Always a fun watch, this one!

We're approaching the part of the season where the riders suddenly just don't have anything left in the tank, making it harder to predict. Del Toro has been all over the place for three months now; he's certainly one of the top candidates to be running out of gas, especially having done the brutal Worlds race. But anyone could blow up at this point of the season. Onley has been cooked ever since the Tour, so he's definitely one I don't expect anything from.

Giro dell' Emiia 2022, Pogi was outsprinted by Mas. This time, it's either Vine or del Torro, depending how the UAE DS would be planning his work. Arensman of Ineos could perform well too with the return of his teammate Carlos Rodriguez.

I want anyone other than del Toro to win. I wish he rode for another team, because I find myself liking him as a rider, yet I just don't like UAE's dominance. I don't think I would feel so strongly about it if they hadn't done so much unnecessary points farming in smaller races. Like, leave something for the smaller budget teams.

A Pidcock win would be incredible.

What are the best options for watching with a VPN? I'm assuming probably RAI, but let me know if there are any other suggestions.

Don't count out Primoz. Yes he's almost 36 but he's won this 3 times in last 6 years and recently finished Kigali in a group with Pidcock, Paul Seixas, Sivakov. This course is very similar to one of the several stages he won in Catalunya this year, on his way to winning the GC, Mtn and Points, over Ayuso, Mas, etc.

I think Pidcock will take this if he still has form. It is no small thing to drop Vinge on a hill, as he did in the Vuelta.

My second and preferred pick is Roglic, though he seems to have lost his punch in the last couple years.

This pick and second preferred is Del Toro.
