This might sound a bit macabre but there's something oddly satisfying to me (assuming that riders who have crashed are not badly injured) about watching as the motorcyle cameras just pass by, take a quick glance at the carnage and keep going. The race waits for no-one (unless you're Cancellara and convince everyone to stop ;- )

Nasty crash for a Direct Energie rider during the ad break. Looked a little bit like Petit :(, not sure though.
Julien Morice.

Ok, thanks for clarifying.

Just checked their twitter and looks like they thought Petit at first too.

Van Avermaet and Sagan both looking comfortable cruising along in the front of the peloton all the time.

We could finally get the big Sagan vs. GVA that we've all been waiting for.

Looks like bjarne Riis creeping about in that meadow

Hahaha. I was getting nervous that the camera was about to line up to reveal something we really didn't want to see.

Is Moscon still in the first group? Can't see any of Sky's.

I spotted one Sky rider in first group a while ago. Doing really well ...

Moscon, stannard and Rowe all had difficulties within about 5k of each other, it was like that episode of the Simpsons where Mr burns' baseball team all suffer various misfortunes, allowing homer (knees) to save the day and win the game.

Average speed still 47,7km/h!

crazy race so far

Yeah, the speed average obviously will drop towards the end, but still, could be a record I guess.
