He did, and Ricco deserved the win, Serpa did nothing in the last kms. Anyways good to see him back in the peleton, every one deserves a second chance. And he can make some races interesting. Hope he takes the overal ;)

I watched Rai's coverage last night.
CF set e tempo on the lower part of the climb that had most in difficulty. Ricco looked like he could have sat up and had a cup of tea.

Of the small bunch left, none could get anywhere near him, when he did a passable impression of Contador. Left them all dead on the road. Unfortunately for him, Faenza was 20km down the road, so he actually sat up on the climb and waited for the first of the few.

He bossed the group all the way to the line, where he got out sprinted by a wheel sucking Serpa, the only guy who did no work. Hence the gesture.

Ricco is smug, and a d!ck. But I sure do like watching the guy.
bit of a shame they don't get to ride the giro. Though I fully understand the organizers decision and props to them for showing the integrity to do so.

Another good day for Ricco

Great win by niemiec, and again i raise the question, why wont he try a bigger level and move to a pro tour team? He's always good in the though italian stage races, exept the giro where his team is never invited.

Same thing with Tondo who rode countless of years on a lower level, before finally moving uo this year and doing great. I think Niemiec could do the same.

I ever asked that myself especially when he did renew for 3 years (if I remember correctly) with Miche.
There must be a reason we don't know.

And I was expecting something more from Rasmussen; he's at 33' on the GC.

Giro del Trentino and the Alpe de Pampeago, last year?
Basso drops everybody, including Di Luca and Niemiec sprints away
in the final 250 metres, like Ivan is pedalling through porridge.
All on a 10% slope. Uummm....

Talking of which, the Cobra had to work really hard yesterday. Got left behind at some point on the final climb and had to claw his way back to the group chasing the 2 leaders. Didn't find his legs until the last km. Then they mess around as "Sucka" Serpa tags on and so nobody will work.
4 chasing 2 on the downhill, but the gaps goes from 18" to 48".

Ricco looks more human. Well what do you expect after a long time off the bike.

The "young fans" being two guys who have finished the Giro in the top places of the GC, while Chtioui has done nothing for the last 6 years since turning pro.

Nice one cyclingnews ;)

The forum bites big brother, once again.

Yesterday, we had...............crosswinds! Looked more like De Panne than Italy.
Peloton blown into 3, with Ricco in the rear. De Rosa did much of the damage.
Front group of just 18, of which, Liquigas had 4 including the GC leader.
Winner Kump interviewed in English.
