Looks like a guy called Mike Olheiser - who could probably fart more wattage in his sleep than you could ever dream of pedaling. Also, he's grimacing.

Some of you clowns (sorry, I usually try not to name call) have no clue how much talent is out on those roads this week.

Yeah! You tell 'em big dawg. Arf! Arf!

If he could fart so much wattage, then maybe I should have him over the house so I can plug my computer and air conditioner into his rear end. Solar power, you've just met your match. :p

By "you clowns" I assume you are also referring to yourself. Six pro tour riders, and the rest domestic racers. Yeah, that's the kind of field you need to be racing against if the Tour is your ultimate goal.

Definitely the "B" team in comparison to even the most humble midweek Belgian semi-classic.

Great photo. Check out the guy next to him. Lance has his race face on and the bloke next to him looks like a weekend sportive rider and is smiling!

Tour de Gila. Great Prep. Contador must be ****ting himself.

:D

Armstrong puts the hammer down at Tour de Gila. Contador must be sleepless :D

Put hey, it´s only May.

He should get one for NOT racing, and just showing up to help promote the sport, talk to fans and the media, IMO.

Not a big fan of ProTour rides entering such a race, though it does rise the profile of the race itself. Lance could probably get just as many riders and fans to show up if he arrived as a patron of the event.
I agree, maybe stand next to the podium and tackle unruly fans "Badger style".

I think they both look great but that thing in the middle looks hideous.

Floyd finished ahead of Lance today.

When is the last time that happened on a MountainTop finish?

I'm well aware of those results. And, how many years ago was that? My question to YOU, and I doubt you'll answer, is what do those old results have to do with This year?

This year, nothing. Just pointing out that he respects the great races and has been a lot more successful at them than AC. AC still needs to create his legacy.
In his last 8 tours, he’s won 7 and finished 3rd in the other. I think he knows what he’s doing. I have no doubt come July, he’ll be ready. He looks bloated because he’s using a supplement that makes him look that way. I expect he’ll look skinnier at the TOC.

Huh?

I think when you said he respects the great races you meant race. Contador's plamares in other stage races is certainly already superior to Lance's.

Hey Moose...how is the US Ben King doing? In a long break in first stage...how about stage 2...CN never distinguishes between the two Ben Kings!! Enjoy the racing!

Phase 5C) Head for the hills with tail between legs when King Kong Contador decides to race alongside you at the Ardennes Classics.

Because training in Aspen and racing the Tour of Gila against Tom Danielson and 'Roid Floyd Landis is always preferable for Tour preparation than racing against top-notch European competition.

It's April-really May already-and he's back to looking bloated. Quite a turnaround from the Tour of Flanders, where he looked like he had emergency liposuction.

By the way, white doesn't make you look fat-FAT does.

He´s not bloated; it´s the 50mph wind that´s filling up his jersey.

ok back onto the race itself

Wrapt with the efforts of our Fly V Oz team with David Tanner & Phillip Zajicek in the top 10 :D

Got this off a guy's twitter feed:

Sergent wins with 3409, LL second w/ 3423; DZ 3rd w/ 3435, TD 4th 3459; PZ 5th w/ 3510

I don't know who PZ is but Lance got beat by Tommy Danielson in a TT????

Jesse Sergent rides for Trek Livestrong (U23). That's kind of impressive no?

Doesn't really surprise me. Danielson has always been a pretty good TTer and Lance just isn't the TTer he once was.

Yeah definitely impressive win by young Jesse Sergent. He's pretty talented against the clock though. He picked up a bronze medal in the team pursuit at the Beijing Olympics.

It isn't confirmed yet, but Armstrong's unofficial time was 35:59, so he lost over a minute to Tom Danielson - not even counting the other riders. I'll be interested to see if he is TTing any better in California in a couple of weeks.
