Wasn't there a headwind on Arcalis? But overall I think your point is well taken. Wind is not his friend.

there was also headwind in criterium international mountaintop finish where contador had lots of trouble.

Needs to get the Chris Horner "motivation" juice into his system and ride like a F1 car.

Oh yeah that's right. Forgot all about Criterium International. He was struggling with the wind. My bad. Thanks for the reminder.

2006 Clasica a Alcobendas Stage 3 9.7KM. He lost 40 seconds in 9.7KM.

In the 2010 Volta ao Cataluyna he lost 13" in 3.6KM to the eventual winner (Kloden and Levi were 2" and 1" off the lead for reference). But save a 60 m climb, it was largely flat.

At the Monoco ITT (last year's TdF), 15.5KM with a cat 4 climb that would favor him, he finished 69th, 1'38" off the pace (1'20" behind AC). Small cat 4 climb, with a technical descent. This route may more closely reflect the profile of this ITT--though none of the riders are in TdF form.

we have the 1st goal post. Oscar Pujol finishhed few minutes ago and took 23 minutes to complete.

looks like i was in the ball park yesterday as i estimated 20-21 minutes for the winner on the rather technical, slow course.

live streaming in 30 minutes.

Mark my words. There is no way in hell Antón keeps the jersey without Contador having a crash/something similar. None. Whatsoever.

Gustavo Cesar has new best intermediate time of 11:53 (8.7 KM). Menchov has yet to make it to the first time check.

I was actually wondering if Menchov had somehow cut the course based on how much of a lead the TV time gave him.
