It didn't even look like an attack.
Gesink was just riding as if it was a training ride on an early sunday
It did, but if he's really going that well, hide and kill 'em on the final climb.

Fuglsang has linked up with Txurruka up front and NEARLY just took a trip down a very picturesque Basque hillside

Maybe he was testing his legs, and his competition, to see who could follow him. Perhaps to find out if he can launch an attack that sticks in the final ks?

Group of people who know they are not strong enough for the final climb now tries to anticipate on the second last climb of the day, this could be interesting

No Caisse representation in the second group as far as I can see, so they have some chasing to do now. I hope they have enough guys left.

[edit]Cummings goes! Sky on the attack in the mountains, can this be?

Yes, I forgot that this part also returns in the final climb. Just a little dress rehearsal ;)

He probs would have been caught pretty soon, but yeah he was going well. That's cycling.

Likely, but he was going strong... If the faves had waited too long to put in their attacks he might've just been able to hold on. He had about 25 seconds I would guess.

Txurruka gone again, he's clearly the strongest out of that break. The pack is closing fast, though. Is that Cunego going off the front?

There are finally some Astana guys in the vicinity of the front - at least close enough to occasionally be on camera

Andy looks like he is on a training ride.

EDIT: This is what cycling looks like without a dominant climber in the mix. Any doubt that AC would be gone by now (or very shortly).
