I hope Evans doesnt do too well here as i want to see him at 110% in tour.

Only Contador can manage a top performance here or TDS and in Tour (last year). Generally most others will fail. Maybe get a stage or something but its better not to push oneself for the overall.

Agree,
the guys who wanna be good in france should just look to follow wheels, get some racing in the legs and get some more altitude training in afterwards.

He said on his twitter that he wantedd to use the Dauphine to see where he was at. I am not sure if that means he will have a go at the gc but we'll see. I think we can be pretty sure that he will animate the race. The hilly prologue looks good for him.

The last two years they had two, in 2008 they had one MTF (although they had a difficult stage to Morzine as well).

Hmm, thought they had more last year. Although that was a boring edition, so easily forgotten.

And besides, I doubt he'll be able to win the Tour. So winning T-A, Romandie and DL in one season will be everything except bad. Still has a shot for the Vuelta after this Tour.

Wow, according to that startlist, OPL is starting with Bart De Clercq and QS with Cataldo. Surely not so soon after the Giro?

Szmyd did the Dauphine last year after doing the Giro where he did a lot of work for Liquigas. Did quite well too, finishing in 3rd on the alpe d'huez climb.

Yes, it's possible. They should be in great form coming of the Giro. If you're planning to do the Tour then it's obviously a no no, but they're not, so should work out.

Bart de Clerq s very young though. Don't you think it will be too much for him considering he is quite young?

Nah, he'll be fine. He's young in the sense that he started cycling very late, so the extra experience in these races wont hurt him. He already has a background as a "veldloper", and doing a cross is also suffering as you're in the red zone after the first km already.

If evans gets a stage win I would be happy enough. If he attacks too much and wins the GC I will be worried for his tdf chances. But he usually always has pretty good form. judging from his 2009 tdf he shouldnt go too hard or he might have a 3rd bad tour in a row.

Contador was third in 2009 and did fine at the Tour.

No Valverde and Contador this year, so shouldn't go as deep as he used to past years to win.

yup hope he doesnt. The problem is contador is better rider than evans. Contador can do well even when he is off form

Yeah, but he wasn't off form in 2009(he was in 2010) :p

He should follow wheels and hope for a good time trial.

ya that what I was thinking too. He doesnt have a lot of other gc contenders too. however there is brajkovic who is peaking for this so he has a good chance of winning again. There is also gesink who also has a very good chance of winning. Basso im not so sure as he usually doesnt do very well on the preparation races for the GT.

I thought evans was off form in the tour 2009 he couldnt follow the favorites on the mountains. I might be wrong because tour 2009 was my first ever cycling race. I think he was doing pretty well in tour 2010 before his injury, considering he had done a crazy giro.

Im sorry but gotta be honest.
But evans is still one of my favorite riders, or my fav rider. But he is still a really talented rider and is one of the best in the world. However not in the league of contador, canc and gilbert. But what do i know, hopefully he will prove me wrong in the tour.

Talking about Contador :p

Yeah, Cuddles was nowhere in 2009. Don't think that will happen again though.

Evans is done as a Tour rider anyway.:D He had his chances in 06-08. He's on the slip since 09 in long stage races. Don't see why he should be able to bounce back

Obviously........leading the Giro and TDF last year means he is finished. He got sick in one and crashed in the other. I am not saying he would have won either race but he would have podiumed the Giro and done much better in the TDF without the elbow problem. We will see how finished he is. If you want to pick a rider who is finished try Carlos Sastre. Retirement can't come soon enough.
