Two minutes seems like too much for any decent team to lose over 23kms, unless there is a complete disaster (which happened to quite a few teams in 2009).

The Giro TTT this year was just under 20 kms, and the largest gap there was something like 1'10", and that was between the HTC-Armada and the Basques, who had 7 nobodies besides Nieve and Anton (neither of whom are time-trialists).

1 minute is the absolute maximum gap I'll expect between decent teams.

Yes 1.30 and 1.10 fit quite well into my original 1-2 minute figure;)

Seems Gesink hit a snag in his preparation:

RGUpdate Robert Gesink

De plaatselijke Rugby-club (die van onder mijn hotelkamerraam) had van mij de competitie niet hoeven winnen! #Kappenmetdieherrie

translation: "The local rugby team (the one from under my hotel windows) should not have won the competition if it was up to me! #stopwiththenoise

I dont get it.

So hes complaining about losing a few hours sleep.

Pfff. Maybe we were all too harsh to dismiss Craig1985's Gesink thread:p

No, I think this is just being blown out of proportion. Any rider would be bothered by that if they have any ambition for the Dauphine. Quite simple actually.

But that was a group of horrible TTers (Euskaltel in the Giro that is). In no no way can I see a team like Astana, Liquigas, or BMC losing anything approaching a minute to the Rabobus in the TTT.

If Gesink gets a head start on the likes of Evans, Basso, Sanchez, or Vino, it'll be 30 seconds or so.... Not 1-2 minutes.

Lol Barredo on his own website.

This morning when they left the hotel, Boom told Barredo: "You get the key, because I will be back later with the podium and everything going so slow.."
Barredo: "What? Why?" ... Boom: "Because I will win".
Said and done.

No Evans and will own him in the mountains, don't you think?

If Martin actually has the form to compete in the mointains he'll own everyone in the TT big time. I somehow got doubts about Matins climbing though... would be nice if he proved me wrong though.

Brajkovich seems a decent guess for me. This might be his only chance to really shine this season.

yeah. When/If I had work the next day and the neighbors are crazy loud I certainty get pretty annoyed.

Hitch just likes to bait, I'm pretty sure it stems from jealousy of the awesome dutch talent coming through.
