Frankly I'd be impressed if Jrod can hold a wheel at sufficient pace to be anywhere near the front with 500m to go. Sprint train momentum means a 500m sprinted climb is a very different prospect to any given 500m section within a longer 7% climb.

Eddy for the win, Tyler not far behind.

I don't know, there is 500m of ~6% then 4-500 meter with a very small gradient and then the 500m of ~7%.

But who will the sprint trains work for, again? I can see SKY (and I have doubts about the freshness of their legs) doing it for EBH or Uran, but other than that I think the teams will go for Evans, Vino and the usual GC-bunch.. and J-rod!

So I will stick to my prediction I think, let's see if tomorrow proves me wrong.

Well I would expect HTC to ride for Degenkolb and Lampre to do something for Bole. That being said I agree that the winner will probably be one of the latter three you mention.

I'm really hoping JRod gets to pop the champagne + if it's really that hard a hill with +7% for 500 m, dunno if the sprinters will be there if Evans/Vino/JRod go really hard

If they ride it hard then Eddy boss may have some troubles. The reason whi it is only 4.8% is because of the flatter part in the middle. The two ramps before and after it have some nasty grades.

Looks a good one for Bole, but I'm not sure I've seen him at the sharp end of a race at all this year. Is he just having a quiet year, or have there been injuries/circumstances?

He had salmonella poisoning.

I'd like to see Rodriguez take a stage victory. He has only a stage of the Pais Vasco this year. Got shut out of the Ardennes by an unbeatable Gilbert, and then had a disappointing ride at the Giro. Actually I'm starting to think I'd like to see him move from Katusha- Tchmil seems like a d!ck to work for, particularly for non-russian riders, possibly.

I think this means it's quite clearly time for Amets Txurruka.

Oh yes please, the breakaway-man should definatly win once, just once would be enough (for now)!

Since two of the most well-known riders without pro victories have broken their curses recently, with Tiralongo on Macugnaga and now van den Broeck today, I think this means it's quite clearly time for Amets Txurruka.

oh i can't wait for the day amets gets his win!!!!

i would go with EBH for this one

Im going for evans because he can win if he really wants to or vino too. But EBH will be more likely.

Today offers a huge choice of (realistic) chances. FWIW...Vino FTW

Would love to see EBH win...but he might have bigger fish to fry.
