I don't think it would do Voeckler much good to drop back to almost 2 minutes behind now, because it looks as though this break could stay away for the rest of the stage now.

I agree. He's got to somehow hold on, risk his neck in the descent and blow out his lungs on the Alpe.

so who had the big re-fill last night?

I find it incredible that unconsistent efforts are used as "evidence" for doping. Actually if anything this is a very good sign when a guy is great one day and bad on the other. It used to be like this in the old days, as they used to have real battels and great hearts. As we've seen today and yesterday. Though i must admit that my hopes to get the old racing style back are much higher than that blood doping will leave us any time soon.

Voeckler is betting everything on staying close enough to bridge on the downhill. If he cannot bridge he is gone and the peloton would have been a better choice. If he gets there he will have had 40km to eat and recharge for another desperate climb :) can't fault his passion even if it may not turn out to be the smartest choice.

Costa and Riblon look as though they sniffed a sewer.

contador shouldn't drop them. or at least costa. movistar will make costa kill himself for him on the descent no doubt

Short stage. 70km to go. This will work. It will be carnage on the Alpe.

I sure the sprinters are glad theyextended the percentage for the time cut in today stage, especially with how this day has developed.

How much time do you think the peleton will pull back in the descent? I don't think it's a tricky one like yesterday.

For quite some time we've talked about Team Gadret. I think Contador deserves Team Contador!

I'm very disappointed with Cris Sorensen Tour. I thought he would be the best of the climbing domestiques, enough to drop Leopard Trek riders. But he's been invisible.

I understand Hernandez and Navarro being tired from the Giro but Sorensen has let me down a bit.

Contador should ask for a proper team next year. Some of those all-rounders like Monfort or Luis Leon Sanchez would do wonders to Saxo.
