condator and andy could still blow and hand it to cadel - it's possible, if not a glorious way to win.

Well the country celebrated an Olympic Ice Skating medal that was won that way.

Voeckler wasting energy here. His teammates are all in the peloton but can't work because he is in no-man's land.

this is exactly right

people critical of Andy for not taking pulls on the Galibier are crazy.
I agree, but apparently Andy is Crazy as well. Makes for great racing. :p

How is Voeckler doing this????

Phill Ligget said its going to be Andy/Bertie 1, 2 for the Tour

Just wait till Alpe.

Theres a small chance Contador can get 2.45 on Schleck there if Andy cracks.

Schleck, Contador and Voeckler are taking huge risks. They are riding without support, drafting. Evans, Basso and Frank Schleck will preserve their energy and ride with their teams, they will slowly reduce the gap and gradually set higher and higher tempos and it will even out somewhat.

Voeckler takes time back every time AC is at the front. Voeckler?! Seriously?! Too good. Clinic.

Looking at Voeckler he might drop out of the top 10. He's totally blowing himself up.

he looks like that all the time....

Does he ever look like he's really comfortable?

That's why i was asking. He is difficult to read in levels of suffering.

When he is really bad he is hunched over his bars, standing and grinding at low rpm.

Like many of you, I'm still not convinced AS should work here. On the other hand, if he somehow has enough in the tank after yesterday not to blow, he and AC have reason to help each other out. It becomes a win for AS and a podium spot for AC. Unless of course AS helps, then blows up on the final climb and AC takes a big chunk of time from him. That would be what we call backfiring.

Yeah but if he doesn't pull, and Evans climbs Alpe with him, its another second place for him to his loooooongg list..he has to take the risk

Yesterday's ride was epic, great and all you want..but he needs a bit more if he wants to win the whole thing!

True. Voeckler and the Peloton have sped up (or Andy/Alberto have slowed down) so perhaps it's wise to share the work. I just hope that the duo will work together and won't crack.

Something tells me after today's stage Andy and Alberto might go back to best buddies again ;)

Only until next year when a fresh bertie re-establishes the order of things. But yes, today Bertie will be a model good loser. I am aware how ironic what I just said is.

Incidentally, a friend of mine on the alpe now just texted me - 'Can you let me know if anyone attacks before the Alpe'

Not sure how to respond to that.
