incredible Contador, has shown brave heart today, made the stage... maybe if he had not attacked on Telegraph he would have won the stage, but still great show...
overall I think Andy can win the TdF, but Cadel will be fired up tomorrow

That was just amazing! Even with my internet feed cutting in and out all the way up the Alpe I couldn't look away.

Rides of the day for me were Pierre Roland and Cadel Evans. Good show from Contador, but just too tired in the end to finish the job.

Andy won the KOM. The KOM finish line was earlier than the finish line and Schleck was 4th in it so just takes the jersey, I think.

Hmm. Would have loved it if their stupidity, Frank passing Andy right before the finish line, would cost him the KOM.

Many times up the Alpe Phil was calling different vision than what was on Oz TV.

Mike Tomalaris proving he really doesn't pay attention-he thinks tomorrow's ITT is 45-odd k's.Guess that's close for him.

So what should he have done?
Trying NOT to get up to Contador? Just because Rolland was on his wheel? Risking the Polka Dot Yersey just becuase Rolland was on his wheel? Loosing the chance to win the stage just because Rolland was on his wheel?

forcing him to work. play some poker. this way he lost the other way he could have won. just sayin . . .

i think andy was pretty heroic not cracking. he tried to do the breakaway again today after what he did yesterday.

i have read everything from andy needs 2 30 on cadel to win the tour to he needs a minute. can someone please help clarify?

Depends on form. Normally I would say Andy could keep it within the minute. I guess maybe even the 8 second record might be cracked.

So Samu gets the polka in Paris.

Rolland gets Alpe.

Shame Contador gets nothing. How much time does he need on Frank for the podium?

again do not discount tommy v
but yes I think frank holds it.

Tommy D. must have finished with the Schlecks/Evans.

GC:

1. AS
2. FS + 0:53
3. CE + 0:57
4. TV + 2:10
5. DC + 3:31
6. AC + 3:55
7. SS + 4:22
8. IB + 4:40
9. TD + 7:11

So, after the TT, it should look something like:

1. AS/CE
2.
3. FS/AC
4.
5. TV
6. SS
7. DC
8. IB
9. Tommy D.

Hopefully Cuddles wins the overall, and AC gets on the podium.

You have to understand the mentality of the chamois sniffers you're talking to.

Tommy 1:17 to make up on Frank. Will he try? Betcha he will!

Small downside for Cadel, having to start before the brothers. He better get a lot of good timers lined up to not be dependent on independant time checks.

Evans will need 1,35 second a kilometre to beat AS which will be all good possible. My dream came true, I wanted around 50-60 seconds as a gap for the time trial and it happens. Excitement continues!

Congrats to Rolland , amazingly done today!
