The gap will go back out when the peloton get onto the climb, obviously gap goes down when breakaway are climbing and peloton on flat.

Distance decreases when the first group is climbing and the second is still on the flat. Time differences remains the same.

You do realize that 5 year's isn't an era right? He still has to consistently beat AS and everyone else the next 3-5 years for him to be the best of his era. There have been many many riders that were the best of the world for around 5 years.

If he won't win another GT (which won't happen as he will get 3 or 4 more in the worst case scenario) he'll still have the most GT wins of this era.

Unless you are a fanboy and think Schleck will turn into somebody else and suddenly win 12 GTs in 8 years.
