Distance decreases when the first group is climbing and the second is still on the flat. Time differences remains the same.

You do realize that 5 year's isn't an era right? He still has to consistently beat AS and everyone else the next 3-5 years for him to be the best of his era. There have been many many riders that were the best of the world for around 5 years.

If he won't win another GT (which won't happen as he will get 3 or 4 more in the worst case scenario) he'll still have the most GT wins of this era.

Unless you are a fanboy and think Schleck will turn into somebody else and suddenly win 12 GTs in 8 years.:D

Pace being controlled behind Hoogerland and Chavanel. I reckon (and hope) they might reach the summit ahead of the peleton.
