You continue to underestimiate the best GT rider of this era and one of the best all time. Is it hope or what?

You do realize that 5 year's isn't an era right? He still has to consistently beat AS and everyone else the next 3-5 years for him to be the best of his era. There have been many many riders that were the best of the world for around 5 years.

I'm sure everyone will tell you I am a bit of AC fanboy. But more than anything, I am a realist. And at present, that's how I see the race.

Slow your roll... He's definitely the best stage racer of this current generation (post-Armstrong). That's not in dispute. And if he hadn't ridden the Giro, I don't think anyone would be picking Andy for the win at this Tour.

There's very little in the way of a valley between the Tourmalet and Luz Ardiden so he wouldn't use to much energy, it's mostly about skill. However I think if he's totally isolated Luz Ardiden will be to long for him to go totally solo and he would drop back. That being said it might cause things to blow up and get rid of a few competitors for the podium.
Yeah maybe 14km climbing alone is a bit to much:) Anyway I would like to seem him try

If Perez is still up there he could help Sanchez at least a bit.

So what your saying is that anyone who has a different opinion is a liar.

No what I'm saying is that no-one so far has dared to say anything about who he thinks is better or not and at least he gave his honest opinion without hiding behind general but meaningless comments.

Sheesh, the break might not even last until the top of the first climb. They lost one minute in six minutes of racing.

The gap will go back out when the peloton get onto the climb, obviously gap goes down when breakaway are climbing and peloton on flat.
