He's 24, only 2 years younger then Andy and nowhere near as good as he was at 24 years of age (remember he was 2nd in the tour at 24) there is no way he will overtake him (that's not to say I don't love him, his home town is only a few km's away from where I grew up and he's an incredible talent, just never going to overtake AS).

Cunego was 23 (ish?) when he won his Giro, and we see how that turned out. Being good at a young age is a good indication but it is not decisive about how you turn out as a rider. (Popovych obvious example.)

EDIT: I'm talking about Cunego as a GT candidate because he is still one of the top riders.

he is basically one year older then TJVG. (14 months, whatever). He took 18th last year in the giro despite being in the break on countless occasions (only 1 succeeded). Tejay vuelta was a disappointment.

Remember guys like schleck(2nd giro?) and gesink(7th Vuelta) did really good GTs in their first GT, where as TJVG, for how much hype he has, didn't. Such an overrated rider.

20km until the start of Hourquette d'Ancizan for the breakaway!!

Your stream is either way behind of you're confusing the top with the start of the climb. It's 9 km till the start.

I know its unlikely for evans to win todays stage. But i will really like to see evans go out of this tour with a 2nd stage win. are there any stages at all which he could win.

Champs Elysees if they added an incline at the end :p

Seriously, I don't think so.

Ok we've got the sprint points out of the way. Can some team remove the French Processional off the front of the peloton? I'd like to see some racing...

You know what. TJVG wasn't exactly a good example so it's kinda pointless to continue this discussion though I guess my main point does stand (Andy might well win a tour or 2 after AC declines whether he beats him before or not). The peleton is about to start the first climb of the day so how about we focus on that now (and on getting 1000 posts before the climbing even starts).
