Just like last year, Contador's weakness is revealed almost by accident and Andy is too busy playing silly mind games and wastes the chance to take real time on him. Last year he didn't have another chance.

I don't think they will be as scared to attack earlier on Saturday. I think they will try to bury him.

Who was it when the Schlecks were attacking whilst with CSC? That was Cuddles wasnt it?

Think it was 1999 cant remeber what climb, but they were both continually attacking, one by one, short sharp attacks.

In 1999 The Schlecks were more busy attacking their Jr.High Prom dates than climbs haha... But yeah, you're right, in 2009 They both did a lot of 1-2 attacks!

i think Frank looks the better of the Schlecks and I think he may contend more than Andy ? Would Leopard and Andy allow Frank to win the tour ? dunno but I'd love to see Schleck vs Schleck :)

So... did Voeckler ride the Tour climb of his life there and for one day hang with the best in the world, or was the pace of the Schlecks, Evans, Contador, et al. unexpectedly slow with those short, repeated attacks instead of a sustained push? Were they all so close to the limit that they couldn't pull off a sustained attack?

contador IS a man, afterall. we have to be fair and say that, considering all the problems he had, and the fact that he rode the tour - he was great today. not at the level of the strongest people today, but still, he gave all he had.

but my man samu! yaaaay!
it's my dream that samu and basso will decide the winner.

also, massive respect to cunego, gilbert, voeckler, voigt and the guy that came with samu, forgot his name.

Why would he pull out? You don't pull out if you just don't ride very well one day...
a bad day indeed or a good day if he was concerned about his knee at the start of the stage. Plateau de Beille will tell us

I don't see how on today's performace Andy Shleck can be considered the favorite for yellow in Paris.

He held on by the skin of his teeth to Evans and Basso at the finish.

He can't time trial so, Evans is the favorite now in my book.

Contador is 2.11 mins behind Frank Schleck now!! Tour over!!

It's definitely looking like that right now. I guess Giro + Tour is too much, after all.

Very, very impressed with Fränk Schleck today, and thumbs up for Sanchez from me.

Fränk rides like a beast today, and everyone says Andy is the man to beat. WTF?

On the stage 4 thread, I said I thought Frank would win the Tour.

Dekker_Tifosi said: Fränk is a second tier climber who will LOSE time to the pre-mentioned names.
Fränk Schleck is simply not one of the top contenders. You'll see
We'll see who's right at the end of the Tour, but Fränk will not finish top 5, I tell you now.

jobiwan said: Top 5 at best for Brother Frank.

Galic Ho also gave a good reply.

I think you guys know more than me. I only watch five monuments and three Tours every year.

Do you still think Frank can't win or maybe today has changed your mind. A Podium at least?

Not wanting them to win is not the same as hate.

On this Schleck 1-2 punch....if Andy is really not as in form & starts to hurt as well can he keep up with frank to be this effective?

All Cadel has to be equal footin by the time the ITT - not ahead

All top riders have a large number of people who dislike them.

did any1 noticed how when he crossed the line contador just pulled to the side and grabbed himself to the barriers?

he is totally spent. the fact that he hang on for so long just proves how good he is

Contador won the Giro when they pulled him of the beach. The guy is incredible, but now he rode an incredible hard Giro of which many said he was just cruising which is total bs. I think the Giro and his knee are a bit too much for him.
Only positive part for AC is that this made him more human.

He was impressive in defeat, but the Giro zapped him. I wouldn't be surprised to see him crack tomorrow and early on Saturday. Just no way he recovers enough to be able to contest Saturday AND the third week.

Timmy I on my phone watch the reply tonight the 2 diesel Evans and Basso how they look?

they did well.
but really I thought AS rode like a loser. They are claiming he wasn't good but when any gaps appeared he closed with ease. He wouldn't stop looking at ac.

He better lift his game at De Bellie.
Frank looked very good today, as he attacked multiple times.

Basso tried but didn't have it.
And evans did well to follow and even drove the pace a bit.

But it wasn't very decisive. Voeckler and a few others were not far behind.

My opinion is it stems from their pathological hate of Armstrong. Because of their hate of Armstrong they love Contador which of course makes them hate the Schleck's. If not for Armstong they would likely hate Contador just as much as they now hate the Schlecks.

I dont really care what makes Samu happy. Im a fan of the cyclist not his life partner. My hope was for GC contention.

He went full out from the start 100%, probably tired himself out for the remaining Pyraneen stages and got a grand total of 5 seconds on Frank and 27 seconds on Baso ANdy and Cuddles.

It looks like he wont even beat Cuddles this year, so a stage win - a relatively minor thing in the world of cycling in my opinion, isnt going to cheer me up.

Wow, i think i'll keep my opinion of you to myself but selfish sure comes to mind. You sound like you are 10. Sanchez hit out early and gave it 100% which is super impressive, not many riders would risk it like that. He's probably recognised GC isn't as realistic at the present time so he's going for stages and time is secondary. Stop whining like a ten year old and attempt to enjoy it
