Wow... 3 Dutch guys in the Top-10 after a prologue and two mountain stages.

6 years ago that was completely unthinkable. Dutch cycling has come a long way.
as i was texting ryo hazuki this morning

7 years ago we only hoped for this :p (colombians winning again and dutch finally having some stage-racers). and now it's all happening

I do agree.

But I still prefer MTF (but I do like a mix).

I mean imagine if this finished on thee summit.

Cunego overtaking LTD right at the summit, would have been epic.

Are you trying to tell me this stage would have been better if it had finished at the top? They would have raced differently in that case, you can't extrapolate.

99% of the time, putting the finish line after the descent gives you the excitement of a MTF PLUS bonus excitement.

Cunego must have been reading some of the criticism regarding his TDF chances. Gutsy ride by Soler but Cunego was out of this world. Been a while since I've seen him climb like that.

the finish encourages dangerous riding.

You mean the descent?? I know!! Awesome wasn't it!!! :D

And for anyone who thinks that the riders take risks - what about that head case on the camera motorbike chasing to catch Cunego! That guy really know how to handle a bike!! I almost enjoyed that bit of coverage more than the rest of the stage put together!! :D

I'm aware of that. But iwas just saying.. how epic it would have been.

Too mant descent finishes wouldn't be good.
Half the time the rides who weren't good enough on the climb come back, that is dissapointing.

Cunego deserved to win today. I agree some finishes like this are great, there has to be a mix (and I prefer a higher count in MTF)

With respect, its a very common mistake. I personally blame whichever country came second for being purposely confusing.

Also, this was on Dutch TV.... Where?

Well yes, once they start climbing he's excellent at descending onto a back wheel.

We are a diverse nation...

of losers ;-)

How can you say that with TGBM being 3rd in GC? he clearly won't be giving anymore gifts in the TdS. I expect him to win tomorrow with at least half an hour!

Why would that be disappointing? Is climbing the only thing that counts in cycling? Cycling is about descending as much as about climbing.

Matter of personal opinion. My favorite thing regarding cycling is climbing, and thus I like to see climbers win.

But Like I said I enjoy the descending also, but too many is not good balance.
