Didn't know that. What's the breakdown?

It's reported here:

http://www.cyclingnews.com/news/boonen-expects-more-tactical-tussle-for-tours-green-jersey

Amaury Sport Organisation’s changes will see stage victories carry 45 points, an increase from 40. The biggest change however is to intermediate sprints. In previous years, six, four and two points were awarded at three intermediate sprints per stage but next year there will be just one intermediate sprint per stage with 20 points going to the winner and 15 riders also picking up points on a sliding scale. (note: the big mountain stages don't have such a sprint)

It's very pro-Cavendish

Where do you find that information? On letour.fr the profiles suggest that there is one intermediate sprint on every stage, for example one at the foot of the Alpe d'Huez - not very pro-Cavendish.

My mistake. They've updated the profiles since I last looked.

However, that's the only stage with a sprint after a mountain of any note (there's another after a cat 2). The rest are before the climbing begins, so no problem for Cav. (And it's not like Petacchi and Farrar are going to go over the Galibier in the front group)

I am not sure about his sprinting much anymore.

Just to note, this finish is actually quite similar to stage 1 of the tour.

I meant a late attack not in a sprint

They are running over the finishing course now, so it will be good to look at to get an idea who can win it.

(Just descending from the Cat 3 now).
