So what? I think you'll find there's some sprinters who could handle that, no problem (Hushovd, Goss, Hausler, Swift, Ventoso, Rojas). Cav won't be there but it doesn't mean the others won't either.

It looks good for a late attack though. It'll take some controlling from the sprinters teams.

If you look at the list of riders I suggested for today you'll see Cavendish wasn't included (hint: it was pretty extensive).:) Link

The final 2k is only an average of 2%. The categorised climb is nothing much to worry about either but the uncategorised climb is harder (including 1.5k @ 6.3%). There's 4km for the sprint teams to bring it back before the 2km drag starts. I think it will be a sprint but quite much more competitive than usual.
