==============================

Figured since I'm going to be following the race, I'll make a thread for it. Not that there'll be much news or discussion on it but I think it'll be a nice contrast to the theme of month. =D

Tabriz seem to be the team to beat, Sohrabi is absolutely dominating the AsiaTour, Shpilevsky won stages and they have the reigning winner returning and a guy who finished 2nd 3 times! (Mizbani)

Any favourites I've missed or mistakes just let me now.

Stage 1 "Skoda Shanghai" Xining Circuit Race (Xining July 2) 132.3km (9 laps)

There's a circuit the day beforehand apparently, but its not listed as a stage - prologue maybe? Anyways....

Slight uphill finish but one for the sprinters. I'll predict Mahdi Sohrabi - you heard it here first, yes yes!

Thanks for the reminder, missed putting links in the OP, updated now.

As I said, Tabriz all the way. Not sure about Andalucia but if Rosendo can climb, then they'll give it a bit of a mix up. Rogina from Loborika only just missed out on the overall last year so he'll be wanting to go one better.

I agree with Tabriz and with Rogina, not a lot with Rosendo.

Anyway, I'm intresting only in the riders that I've posted :)
what about MARCZYNSKI? can be the best in the GC? or should I go for Pimenta?

maybe you can ask to my previous questions? :)

marczynski hasn't shown in a long time to be able to climb well, he was a pretty big talent. pimenta is a saver bet but I think he will focus for volta portugal, when ccc ride?

Tomasz Marczynski just dominated the Polish RR and ITT, along with the Tour of Maloposka.

Marek Rutkiewicz is also coming along at right time.

Both of these guys and maybe Mendes to do something for CCC

CCC have 18 riders on their books.

They are, for the first time, eligible to ride the Tour de Pologne now that they're on the biopassport, which is at the same time as a Volta. 9 riders in Portugal + 8 riders in Poland would really stretch them, plus Poland is their key market.

However, from the TdP's website it appears that they're going with the traditional "all ProTour teams + a Polish national team" setup of recent years. In which case I assume Rutkiewicz, Marczynski and either Morajko or Janiaczyk will ride for that. That would leave Mendes, Schulze and Bodnar as the best names left over for the Volta.

Hmmm always a bit of a lottery with the altitude and possibility of food poisoning, i reckon Dave McCann for a roughie though it's always hard to see anyone beating Tabriz. And you never know with any other riders who may be coming from altitude like loads of the north americans who train up in Colorado etc but then guys coming from America and western europe always struggling with the jet lag for a bit too. Gonna be interesting, wish there was live streaming:D

Hell yeh!

But not unless I could spend some time at altitude beforehand. But definitely not AT Qinghai lake per se, any of the teams who go up there for a week or two before the race tend to be reaching for a snug fitting noose before the race has even begun:p
