Thanks! Pretty good considering he is coming off a broken collarbone

I know the web commentators were doing their best and I appreciate the race commentary and the web coverage.
It was the young Colombian who stunned the crowd with his dominating performance, having not been tipped as a race favorite before the start. Henao, who hails from Rionegro near Medellin, won the 2010 Vuelta Colombia and the Grand Prix du Portugal and Cinturon a Mallorca in 2009, but though he's finished second in the Tour de Beauce in Canada, it is his first appearance on US soil.

I thought there was a formula that had a relation for the 5 minutes performance with VO2 max.
Well, this one is close.
Eric8-A said:The commentating was terrible. Along with the streaming. They repeated clips several times. But what annoyed me the most was that they just passed riders leaving the starthouse and arriving at the finish line. But I guess that's what you get when you have a prologue that short.
It was an uphill prologue... did you expect Bookwalter to beat the likes of Sevilla and Mancebo there?auscyclefan94 said:BMC failed dismally. What the hell happened to Bookwalter and Hincapie?
Being a good TTer doesn't help much in such a TT, being a good climber is more useful. And neither Bookwalter nor Hincapie is a very good climber.auscyclefan94 said:Bookwalter finshed 28th and Hincapie 39th
Sevilla and Mancebo are way past there best and I dnever really thought Mancebo as being a good TT rider tho i could be wrong. Bookwalter and Hinacpie are known to be good in short itt's.
hrotha said:You might be getting a little too carried away there. He beat Sevilla. At the Vuelta a Colombia he was beaten by Félix Cárdenas and, again, finished just ahead of Sevilla. No doubt he has talent, but for someone who is 23 and a half years old he hasn't been that impressive yet.
You like them carrots. You should be touting Mikel Landa as the next Contador instead.
Eric8-A said:How about Andrew Anacona? He's like 19 and podiumed in the Baby Giro along with a stage win.
El Pistolero said:I think we'll get to see Contador's successor when he already retired. Remember, Basso was called Armstrong's heir as well, but who would of thought that his heir was hidden in Armstrong's last pro team before his first retirement.
And this is just the Tour of Utah, 90% of the peloton sees this as a vacation ride. Plus Levi probably isn't in good shape and Zabriskie won't be either. These guys dropped out of the Tour. Well Levi didn't, but did anyone notice him? Hardly OMFG to see someone beat them.
I apologize for my compatriots (or just my one compatriot, really), we're not all like that, I promise.craig1985 said:I can't believe Jack Bauer finished 8th. Of course if he was from Holland instead of New Zealand, there would have been a thread claiming Bauer to be the next Hinault.

The Hitch said:+1 Craig about Bauer.
He was beaten by Cardenas but hes only 23. He wasnt in top shape. He showed last year what he can do in top shape. Hes done very well in other South American races this year too so 10 Vuelta wasnt a one off.
And i like some of them Carrots, individually. It has nothing to do with the fact that they ride for Euskaltel. If Nieve or Samu were on any other team i would like them just the same.
Also Contador can tt. And descend. Landa on the other hand is Basque.
Another great talent. A few of them coming up. I like Monsalve for the Rujano successor position. And Quintana is another major talent of course.
So many others. Duarte is yet to reveal his full potential.
Its a long list of South American youngsters lining up. But at the moment SLH stands firmly at the front of the que.
Contador isnt Lances successor. Hes so much more than that. And a lot of people were supposed to be Lances successor. Wasnt Poppovych supposed to be too. Basso could have been if it wasnt that Puerto happened to hit immediately after the Lance years.
Which is a shame, I actually enjoyed his insight with columbian riders. Can't be arsed to scan obscure websites in various languages for this information myself. I seem to remember him talking about Henao developing from a climber into more of an all-rounder, having put on some weight in muscles etc. Wonder how that will affect him in the big mountains.sublimit said:Maybe he wants to impress Greenedge or others with what he can do and had a proper go.
Anyway Ryo cant put the kiss of death onto Henao this race because he is not with us for a while(banned for a month I think)![]()
You really shouldn't pay attention to anything Ryo says, even about Colombian riders. He doesn't know what he is talking about 90% of the time. Did you miss that thread where an actual Colombian called him out on all his bull****?maltiv said:Which is a shame, I actually enjoyed his insight with columbian riders.
