Another win for Zombie Highroad; kind of pathetic for the other teams to be beaten by guys who don't really have much to race for anymore except pride.

Then they need 850 000 from other sponsors. Former Vuelta director said last year on TV that the total race budget was about 20M.

Brutal. Shame really that a lack of sponsorship prevents more interesting stages but I guess you have to make budget somehow.

That'll teach Nibali to go for the intermediate sprint--little did he know it was a trick "penalty seconds" sprint.

lol (literally in my case) :D

Yeah stage has him same time as Wiggins, Results look computerised, maybe a penalty somewhere?

Nibali finished with the leaders group at least so either it's just a mistake or they have given him a 20 second penalty for something.

Rendell suggesting a penalty

I go with luckyboy's hypothesis, even if he is a miserable unpatriotic git ;):D

Shame about Bakelants, he was my dark horse after Albasini. Also, a pity that Madrazo went too early, he had been doing everything perfectly today.

ITV are speculating that Nibbles may have received a 20 second penalty for something. I think it's more likely that the provisional GC is just wrong.

Yeah, I noticed that. Anyone know what happened?

20" time penalty??

yesterday's results haven't been changed (like they did with Dan Martin), so it is either that (for something today) or an error in the rankings.

They've read his interview about not attacking and decided to force him to race. :D

But seriously, that's weird.

How far was there to go when nibs went bottle collecting, was it just inside 20km to go? There was a bit of sticky bottle going on in front of the cameras. Maybe its that.

or the aso just want to make it more exciting.

Thought it was near the top of the last climb - and that was with 27km to go. Certainly were going uphill at the time from what i remember.
