How could Anton have so badly ****ed up his Vuelta prep? Was he sick or injured and I just didn't hear about it?

He had a stomach virus during his vuelta prep.

Liquigas in the front of the group, making it harder for Sky to close the gap. Nice tactics for both Liquigas and Katusha

I hope rodriguez or at least nibali with his downhil will try to bridge. big trouble here for sky

But couldn't that backfire at them, I mean Moreno isn't that far off Nibali and is a good climber

It's bizarre. I can't remember the last time a central favourite was this dire, day after day, in a Grand Tour for no obvious reason. Illness, injury, exhaustion, sure. But there have been absolutely no stories coming out of Euskaltel indicating any of the above.

Even if he had screwed up his preparation, he should have been able to ride himself into some kind of acceptable form by now. He's getting dropped on climbs by non-climbers.

I can't see Sky pulling back time, they would almost be better waiting until it flattens out and then driving it home to limit their losses.

They surely won't make an effort if the gap of the break grows to more than 5 minutes. But less than 4 minutes, Moreno is quite under control and Sky has to do something. Maybe Nibali will have a go too today.

The race will either explode and it will be up to Froome/Wiggins themselves or they will get help from a team like Rabobank later on.

Talk about bad Vuelta prep: Scarponi has been dropped from the Peleton. #ZapateroFail.

I guess something wrong with his health.

Even being too far from the supply lines it's still too early to get dropped.

Leopard and Astana also have reason to want to pull it back. Liqui really should too in the end.

Leopard not really. Fuglsang and Monfort to a lesser extent are likely to drop back over the weekend.

Astana - maybe.

Download FF 6 the other night and now all I get is a VSop subscription message, asking for mobile phone number.
Very strange.

try replacing 7 with 6 in the above link. It's working for me.

this may be so, but it is insane to just concede and accept such fate.
