Lotto got Bakelants and Van de Walle in the break. They are protecting Vdb's GC spot too hard. Maybe they are thinking of Reynes??

Most likely their just getting face-time at the front. A few slots on next year's team still up in the air?
Maybe they know Sky aren't going to bring the group back, and their only chance of winning the stage is to bring it back themselves.
