That was a great example of 2 guys in an opportunity of a lifetime to win a GC jsut giving everything. Cobo halted 10 meters beyong the finish line looking gas and the shot of Froome up against a wall or a van looking pretty shattering told the story of what was giving today.

That Sky TTT might turn out to be absolutely disastrous if Froome loses this by 10-20 seconds!

Not as disastrous as the decision to have Froome hold back and support the great pretender Wigans.

I don't think Froome will be out of contention until after Stage 20.

Wiggo and he climb to the plateau thn launch an attack and try to Time trial to the overall.

Wiggo takes bigger turns, sacrificing himself the Froome launches solo with ~10K to go.

If the climb is selective enough, that may just work.

Froome lost 27 seconds working for Wiggins on stage 11 as well as plenty of other time potentially over the first 9 days.

Sky must feel a bit stupid now.

Froome was a ****in' hero today!!

Fair play to Cobo for that unbelievable response. I thought Froome had the Vuelta in his pocket!!

Also has Andy Schleck watched and learned? This is how you pull off a proper acceleration. Not looking behind after 100m, but just keep going and going like Froome

Correct, the way it should be.

I durn well hope so...

However help someone else to be the first ever Brit to win a GT may be too much of a sacrifce to his pride.

He can be a team player, but in his heart I am sure he still dreams of being that 'first'

The 30s when Froome got to the front were just amazing, I don't know how often we see that on MTFs today, which are usually just tempo riding + late attack. Froome has little acceleration to speak of but put everything into that burst - very risky but it is what the situation called for.

Uau what a stage (and how fast it was run), fantastic finish epic stuff.
So was this guy Froome working for Hinggins, it's like Ronaldo working for Di Maria or Messi working for Pedro.

Great stage, with 13 seconds of toime gap I just wonder how the next stages will be
