The Vuelta updates showed him as 2 mins down at the first check. Weird.

It obviously confused his start time so that it gave him 2 extra minutes. 1.59 down instead of 1 ahead.

Froome has already exceeded my wildest expectations for this Vuelta. If he can keep this up for two more weeks he may well end up going to the Tour de France next year.
Definitely. He has been unreal.

Like I said in my opening post that nobody seems to have read, whoever does well here will win la vuelta. Wiggins is certainly doing that today.

That is more or less stating the obvious.

No pressure TGBM

Similar story to the Dauphine, would be nice if he could hold it though.

wiggins took it way too easy on the decent in the dauphine,, otherwise he would have won no doubt.

Wiggins and Froome now together on the raod..

They split up team mates that would otherwise start after each other so it's Dan Martin they have put in between them.

Brakjovic lost twice as much to Martin in the second section.

Edit: actually closer to 3 times as much

Except "doing well here" is different for everyone.
Wiggins will lose tons of time on Angry Lou, so he must gain 4+ on Purito and 2+ on Nibali and Menchov at least.

For Purito, doing well is losing less than 3 to nibbles

Ouch Anton.

From Brajkovic's time split a couple of minutes ago, winds certainly look real strong.
