Talansky losing a lot of time in the final part.
The wind theory might be right.

Headwind first part, tailwind second part. But the wind has died

This is really bothering me. What kind of bike is Menchov riding? It is certainly neither a Fuji D-6 nor a Kestrel 4000, the two bikes his team's sponsors could provide. (look at pics of those two bikes. Both decidedly curved looks. His frame today is rather angular.) Adding to my suspicion is the fact that all the frame says is GEOX-TMC. Were it a prototype from Fuji or kestrel it would surely have their name on it. What is he riding?

I thought that perhaps he might have a disguised Giant Trinity as that's what he used to ride at rabobank but the frames don't look similar to me.

Thoughts?

I find myself cheering for Cobo and Zubeldia. The latter should actually put in a good performance today. Aupa Haimar!

Menchov 3rd. Seems like a definite advantage in the first half now.

Wow, he can actually time-trial still? I thought he's forgotten how to, with his move to Geox

The wind has died so the times at point 1 are faster than the early starters (relatively)

But beware, the 2nd part is tailwind, and since they have less wind there they are going to lose a lot of time.

Jani's time proves we're just confused by how crap Fabian is, and Tony's time is not that exceptional.

Really? A second per km faster than Brajkovic in what may be worse conditions is not that exceptional?

Oh, and Cobo needs to shave. Not quite Ten Dam bum level but sheesh.

Talansky is young. Could have just overcooked it a bit.
