Not overly. Second in the nationals last year, decent time trials all year. Sky on the whole have done a lot of work on time trialling. Didnt expect him to beat brad though, but expected him to come in fairly close to him.

Oh come off it. Froome is a guy whose wikipedia page lists winning the Anatomic Jock Race amongst his key accomplishments. Now he's both one of the best climbers and one of the best time triallists at the Vuelta? If his performances don't count as a surprise, nothing in cycling does.

Is that really slipstreaming? There's a pretty big gap. He's not even in line with him.

Looks like the comissaires have had a word in the Katyusha DS's ear, J-Rod has moved across the road.

Just cos you haven't heard of him doesn't mean he isn't talented. He's been climbing solidly for a few years, this is just his first good GC performance.

Yes. I am very happy with talyor's ride though. BMC's first top 10 for the vuelta.

Both Phinney and Oliveira did a good job, we must give them credit for it, very good to see.

This is what J-Rod needed last year, someone to start behind him and pass him so he could pace himself. He had a long, lonely ride in red last year...

Kessiakoff not bad at all.

Good ride from Kessiakoff. Hopefully we'll get some coverage of him climbing the next mountain.
