It's not clear who is working. Somebody obviously is, because the gap hasn't really gone out.

Could easily be leakys and Sky as well. Duarte is a little too close in the GC

Sure Duarte is only 4 places ahead of LLS on the GC but there's 3 minutes in difference. The break would be doomed if he caught on.

God bless his little heart if he forces Sky and Liquigas to chase.

Yes. The peloton will have to chase pretty hard if they want to stop a break that big from racking up a solid lead before the climb. And there still really aren't too many teams likely to do that.

Bad news for those of us hoping for a big dust up on the final climb.

3 mins at the base of the climb for someone like MoncoutIe is enough for him to win the stage. A couple climbers in there will be able to go with him but his form outweighs all of them

The peloton are insane if they give Duarte too much leeway.

This will however be a very good test for him ahead of Angliru. If on top-form (or anything remotely close), very few riders in the world are capable of matching Duarte on a climb like Angliru. The steeper it gets, the better he goes.

The logic (for Sky) is easy - give the breakaway enough time to take the stage and get rid of the bonification points, but be within a couple of minutes of the winner. Judging the time gap to leave is a little harder - between 5 and 8 minutes? Duarte does cause a problem though...

Nice to see Duarte back amongst things. Sky should let Liquigas chase because they have the favourite for overall gc and maybe do a token effort themselves.
