Yup, after Cervinia I said I might have to take him seriously as a challenger. I still struggle with it, I don't know what it is. Some may joke that it's because he speaks English, but I'm talking about not taking him seriously, not disliking him.

I think it's because he's accumulated his palmarès mostly in rather unassuming fashion, I haven't really noticed just how good a lot of his results have been.

This ^^ A long steady improvement...Vuelta stage, tour top ten, ardennes results, etc.

Remember the Tour 2009 when he was the fifth man to count in the Garmin TTT..hanging on to the four specialist TTers?
