Sort of a pointless attack. I expect Nieve to be brought back in relative short order.

Nieve only knows how to attack when going for epic breakaways.

It beats him trying to hold onto his 18th place

if they don't attack it's boring and the riders are cowards if they attack it's pointless. . . .

it's not like nieve is going to be with the very best favorites at the end anyway

I fully agree, although they might have been better waiting a couple of kms for the attack. Nieve has a long way to travel alone.

Gadret doing some on the fly fashion adjustments!

Rabottini giving it the full Voeckler there. Didn't his mother ever tell him that if the wind changes his face will stay like that?

Robo Rabbit is riding his way into Madrazo territory. I'm loving this guy.

Will he catch the break by the top of the climb? And will the peloton?

He'll probably reach the breakaway, but from the looks of it, they aren't exactly burning up the road with their pace. I expect the break will be captured at the start of the next climb (rest on the descent).

Is JRod isolated?

Purito isolated, and a little too far back, not on Scarponi's wheel like usual. Could mean trouble later on.
