Sophistic said:very impressive climbing by Hesjedal, looking stronger than the featherweights on 10% slopes but also very unimpressive descending by the canadian, how the hell can an ex-mtb pro not drop Basso downhill....
hmronnow said:Hi,
Basso had a little gap at ~1.2km to go. It seemed more to me as he stopped pedaling than hejsedal catching him. Did I read that wrong? If not, why didn't he keep going?
whittashau said:what makes you say that? He was looking down at his bike as if he had a mechanical.

will10 said:Some people are impossible to please. The race blows to pieces at 25km to go with everyone on their limits, but the stage sucks.
shalgo said:Is that really true though? Surely if he has only 30 seconds on Hesjedal before the ITT he will lose.
I think that JRod, Basso, and Scarponi still aren't treating Hesjedal like a real contender. They expect him to crack one of these days, and so are only thinking about each other.

26th place finisher Felline was the last one to finish less than 10 minutes back.

GO ROBOBASSO!

But apparently the stage sucked.

Even if he had got a minute on the climb - the chaser would have caught him on the descent ... it was just too far IMOBernie's eyesore said:Pozzo will need to take 5 or 6 minutes in two stages given his crap time trial. He blew it big time today, looked like he had the legs to take some real time if he had been bothered.
WinterRider said:Is Hesjedal that great a TTer? I know he was best of the contenders in the opening ITT, but other than that I've never know him to be a world beater. 30 seconds might be enough.
From what I'm reading, they only moved a bit in the last kms of the last climb. Now look at the profile of the whole stage.will10 said:26 guys within 10 mins of the winner.
