In a sprint no one looks to harm the riders:rolleyes:.
They just try to do the best, what some sprinters need to realise is that their best can not come at any cost.

Some time before the sprint Sean Kelly had said that at some time or other all sprinters had caused others to crash in a sprint including himself .

Phinney iwth lots of ice and tape on the ankle, but getting the pink jersey. Rasmussen might be a serious contender for pink on wednesday.

Rasmussen always had a good chance there, but GREAT to hear that Phinney is able to keep the jersey...

Hope he gets some rest tomorrow and is able to continue.

More like a bleedin Lada.
Oi, punk! Dont badmouth Ladas. Reliable mothereffing products similar to cars that actually start during proper winters.

The sprint? Well, shoot happens, and the move was really amateurishly stupid. Good that the crash was not even worse. Not Cavs fault. Enough with the witchhunt mentality, even if it's fuelled by race (watching) fumes.

Ferrari officially dq'd and placed last on the stage, but not out of the race.
Savio in RAI's mobile studio, looks as if he's swallowed Rujano's ears.

Seriously? I was willing to cut him some slack, maybe, because everybody can have a monumental screw up once, but if he doesn't even think he did anything wrong...

Ferrari not doing himself any favours with comments like that.

The Greenedge leadout struggled in Turkey, that was pretty much perfect. Once Lancaster(?) pulled off Haedo and Farrar didn't seem to make up much ground at all.

Ferraris a tool that was one of the worst xamples ive seen of irregular sprinting, it should be a disqualification given the circumstances with a gap to his left and such a violent movement. You have to take into account damage to the other riders when handing out the penalty, the fact he appeared to not show a great deal of remorse is a disgrace, no ban though, simply taking him out of the Giro will be punishment enough.

Phinney is an awkward situation with rest and recuperation for a day it should be enough if its merily a sprain, the team will start last so he basically has 2 full days to recover, i know the normal convention is to train on a rest day to keep the legs working but they can make an exception, this will have a big impact on Pinottis GC aspirations, I would say Phinney is worth a minute at least in comparison to an 8 man BMC with out him

Don't understand this wrong.
I am by no means defending the crash.
But to take something positiv out of it. For Cavs personality it might not be the worst thing to learn how the road feels himself. Maybe this will make him a bit more considerate and humble.

Ok things like those can happen but this Ferrari guy looks to me like a total moron after the interview...basically he said he doesn't care about who's behind him :eek::eek:

Let's hope that when he is shown a recording of what happen he might change his mind.

Considering what Renshaw got chucked off the Tour for, he very lucky to be still in the race. Relegation from 9th to last is absolutely no punishment at all.

I wonder if he wasn't Italian would the outcome have been different:rolleyes:

Yikes, no remorse from Ferrari. He made a bad mistake then compounded it by not admitting it. I'm guessing that he may find himself the target of some self-enforcement by the peloton in future road stages.

I see what you're saying but what happened today leaves it all open to "I would have won but for that idiot Ferarri". If he'd been beaten fair and square it would have been better.

Renshaw was chucked as he's a leadout, relegating him...who cares
