Not with the lineup they have at the Giro... Garmin's is way better for TTTs

Then why did they only beat them by such a relatively small margin? Katusha came within 5 seconds of Garmin FFS!

Same with overall races though and teams aren't usually given podium moments with the leaders they sacrifice themselves for. they do it sometimes after but not during the thing

Ok, now I get where your coming from. I misinterpreted your post.

I think its a good idea to have whole team on the podium, (except the Shreks who dont take a turn ) no doubt adds to the spectacle, good for sponsors from picture/promotion point of view and no doubt good for the domestiques/support riders.

Well done to the Giro in this instance.

Without taking anything away from anyone, IMO Garmin paced themselves poorly and thereby shed / pushed into the red their flat engines Rasmussen & Navardauskas. That was quite apparent in the last third, when they did not gain but rather lost time, whereas the first 2/3s it was the other way round.

Sponsors must love their name being bandied about rather than it being an individual rider with passing reference to the team. Well, the sponsors of the top teams must anyway.

I've done many team TT and I can guarantee with @taylorphinney at full strength we'd won today hands down.

Jonathan Vaughters ‏ @Vaughters

So the consequences of a crash goes well beyond what you might think.

Thanks to jsg from velorooms.

Congrats to Garmin and Navardaskus.

I feel sorry for Rasmuessen being dropped on the climb ( but they are out of Denmark now so there would have been no real added bonus ). Hesjedal looks in a good position.

JROD must be so happy. Kreuziger and Basso had their teams go ok but i feel sorry for Kreuziger who went very well in the ITT.

Scarponi, Gadret, Rujano and Pozzovivo look to be in bad positions.

its a damn shame what happened to phinney and the crash and all that. They had to slow down the pace a lot and had that crash which cost them a lot. Its true what pinotti said BMC would have been in the running to win with a healthy phinney. BMC's climbers did a great job in the TTT
