and people were upset that Farnese Vini and colnago got wildcards, I remember being one of the few pleased with colnago and my reasoning was pozzovivo :p

Such a bad loser, not even congratulated the winner

That's cos he keeps getting beaten by second rate Italian sprinters.
I suspect it's as much ado about the points, as the win.
Still, you go chasing an uphill IS, you leave something on the road.

That's almost double Guardini's career best CQ score.:)

Who else had Guardini for the win in the GT prediction game...

Lol at all the 'new dawn' comments - same every year. Surely after last year's tour sprint Guardini has to be Griepel to prove he's fastest.

Yeah, we had a great call here. :)

I really thought Guardini was just going to ride around this Giro. I'ts a good Giro for the tifosi with Pozzovivo and Guardini both delivering. The hype will be deafening.

Some frustration was probably to be expected though; it seems Sky had to do too much work today and therefore he had too little support in the last few km's. Thomas was tired it seems, Cavendish had to go from too far. Still, impressive speed by Guardini

Ridiculously weak excuse. The entire Saxo team took over the leadout train for Sky in the last km. He had a perfect leadout. He just lost today.

Really? I thought people were upset with NetApp, maybe Farnese as well. But Colnago? Really?

Wow, I seriously wasn't expecting Guardini to have anything left in the tank by now. I imagine this Giro will help him immensely with his endurance.

this is a pretty good sign for him, it shows he can recover, now he just needs to improve his resistance so he doesn't reach the last couple of k completely exhausted. he has guts tho, and really knows how to suffer. he made me a fan with his sprint win on the volta last year where he could barely walk after it.

Cavendish just doesn't have it anymore. I'll be surprised if he ever wins again.

no1 is saying cav is past it, but in pure speed and acceleration it has been pretty much accepted by many that guardini was already better. guardini just happens to be worse in everything else lol

Why is everyone assuming he's mad at Guardini? There are a hundred things that look around could have meant.
Probably because he turned towards Guardini, raised his arm and shouted something in his direction...

So lame of Cav to b*tch at Guardini after his first Giro stage win. What a sore loser.

Lovely to see Guardini ignore him though, haters gonna hate.

You guys could make millions with this talent. To be able to understand exactly what a gesture means from a poor stream with absolute certainty is a rare thing.

Guardini went at the same time not on cav's wheel but a different line anyway, simply beaten.

Or turned towards the stage finish and shouted something in frustration. You can't know.

Yes colnago, and yep your right that NetAPp was a big anger point :D

Actually I think Farnese was more accepted because of guardini, pozzato and gatto.

What is the different in points for 1st place and 2nd is it less than what Cav won in the sprint mid race ?

25 for 1st, 20 for 2nd, 6 for the intermediate. So yes.

Someof us got beautiful HD Thanks You Very Much! :D

But it DID look like he shook his fist at Guardini, tho he turned his head afterwards and beat his handlebars a few times. He might just have been frustrated *shrugs*
