those were some awful long exams from like march to september ;)

ya great spirit, nowhere to be seen in defeat, ready to cheer in victory :p

Are you kidding me, I was here all season. Ask anyone who posts here regularly. Of course I posted less in the second half of the season as I have to prepare for my exams months before.
I was still watching racing and reading the forums though.
and yeah the BMC fanboys were still here even in defeat....

Daniel Freibe is reporting that Freire is furious at Valverde for not leading Oscar out.

I love Oscar but from my perspective, Oscar wasn't in any position to be led out. I'll have to review the standings but had Valverde waited on Freire and attempted to lead him out, Spain would've missed the podium entirely.

I guess this disapproves Ryo's theory that EBH has no stamina/engine for longer classics

The man that knows it all... once again proven wrong *sigh*

Ryo saying something usually disproves it as a theory

Since the Giro, BMC have been picking up decent wins. This will make them pretty happy. The year hasn't been too bad except for the lack of wins in the Spring classics. TJVG did well in the Tour. Phinney got some decent results. Tschopp's win in the USA. They will go into next season in a much better frame of mind and there is still Lombardy to come. Good second half of the season for BMC.

I agree. Valverde had the most left in the tank in the finale so they had to go with him.

pretty good, of course it was not as special as the first time. This was my second time.
But got a great seat at the grand stand, really noisy though.
The best part is that I didn't even know what was going on in the race:p
I thought vettel crashed...

Boom is going to be a major force in one day races the coming years. About the only Dutch Rabo rider who shows good progress. Could easily see him winning some big races next year.

Boom got better year after year since he focused on road. He won Tour of Britain last year, and 12th in P-R, then this year 6th in P-R and won Eneco Tour, so that's a huge step up already. Now this. And the guy is only 26.

Boom is Rabo's MVR (Most Valuable Rider) at this point.

Unless things change I am not convinced that Sky is the best team for EBH. I wonder just how much they will focus on the classics next year. They have some good guys but seem to only talk about the Grand Tours.

With EBH,Thomas,Stanard,Uran,Jtl(yes I believe)Henao it would be an utter disgrace if they didnt and just concentrated on GT's an utter disgrace.

I hope Thor comes back. I really enjoyed watching him in the Tour a few years back and he had seemed to reinvent himself since his sprinting legs had somewhat gone. Hopefully something at PR.

Indeed, Boom also progressed on the CQ ranking every year, very linear progression that goes along with the type of results he is getting.

I think there is an odd contrast to that; I reckon that the coaching at Team Sky will get the best out of EBH more so than if he changes team. However they will never put the same focus on the classics than on le Tour.

Does he need a team built around him or a team that will get him into the best shape possible but not support him as much on race day?

Though with stannard, thomas and hayman he should have good support on the cobbles (though i suspect thomas may be a co-leader)

Sounds like he has had a horrible time with illness. His two stage wins in the 2011 Tour were great to watch.

Matty Hayman as well. I do hope they give it a good go. Given the talent of EBH it would be a shame for him to suddenly hit 30 and wonder why he doesn't have a better palmarès.
