just a warning.. there are a lot of errors in the romandie race manual. for example, stage 1 they have sprint points listed, which are actually the sprint points for stage 2...

edit:

and stage 4 doesnt work.. they have 40km between the col de mosses and the sprint point in Veysonnaz. Even drawing a straight line between the two its 30km and theres a small matter of some mountains and two rivers in the way. its not possible in 40km..

routes lovely, but the distances are all over the shop.

I will make a bet here that breschel will be injured again next year and fail the classics
Yeah it seems impossible that guys like Breschel and Boassen Hagen ride a full classics season without injuries...

ebh no, breschel yes. I predict his retirement in a few years. I know I said when rabo bought him to me he had chronic kneeinjurys which at that age is basically end of your career. so far I;m right we will see how his future goes

So far you're right? You know that what ended his Vuelta wasn't his knee injury?

Nicki Sorensen will skip the Giro to ride Tour (and Vuelta?) in support of Contador:

http://www.cyclingnews.com/news/sorensen-willing-to-skip-giro-ditalia-for-tour-de-france

With the Giro d'Italia starting in Denmark in 2012, it is a natural magnet for Danish riders. Nicki Sorensen would like to ride it, too, but he is wiling to pass it up in favour of the Tour de France, where he wants to help Saxo Bank teammate Alberto Contador again claim the title.

“As I see it, it is very difficult – if not impossible – to ride a good Giro and a good Tour,” he told feltet.dk. “Matto Tossato did well this year, but most people looking to try it, things go damn bad in the Tour.

“I also know from experience that it is not much fun to be at the start of the Tour if you are not 100 percent prepared for it.”

And the Tour is his major goal. “I'd love to ride the Tour again. Especially because I'd like to try to win it with Alberto, who will be really great. So it is surely the season's big goal.”

Since the team will be focussed on supporting Contador, “the team that rides the Tour de France needs to ride together a lot before the Tour. This will help the team ride together and so avoid errors in the Tour. The riders get to know each other much beer and you know exactly how to respond in difficult situations. "

Someone on the CN writing board is really thirsty. :p

indeed i agree with you . . . no T-A or P-N, no pais vasco, no classic, nothing just week long stage races and not even the best ones, then again he will be able to lead the team on those races and gain experience and i think that's what the hog wants him to do.

Didn't Popovych say that Machado's problem was riding in the peloton, and wasting too much energy? These aren't really the races where he would learn that, they're about the quietest races on the calendar.

Catalunya was very chaotic this year, very dangerous inside the peloton. It would actually be the perfect race for him to get more experience if it has a similar route again.

Nooooooooo. I wanted to see him commit to try do the TDF if only because now on a WT team he should be doing a lot more training on the ITT bike. He could win the best young riders' jersey at the Vuelta though.

No National ITT for LLS???

Also does anyone know Sicards' schedule?

There isn't a best young rider jersey at the Vuelta. And I am really pleased to see Pinot not doing the Tour de France. The expectations could ruin him as a cyclist as they have so many other French hopes. The Vuelta is ideal at this point in his career - less pressure on him, slower average pace of the péloton (just ask Remmert Wielinga how tough the pace is at the Tour for young prospects), thinner field, more stages where a break is likely to be allowed to go. Let him adapt to racing a GT before hurling him in at the deep end at the Tour.

You mean the guy with a pathological fear of riding in the peloton? Not the best example. Your point is right though.

I can hardly imagine. Some Belgian crashed, or something?

Oh yeah. Sorry i forgot about the no young riders' jersey.
You're in good company, Cyclingnews listed the prospects for the young rider's jersey in the Vuelta this year.

Re-read the tweets of cyclists riding the Catalunya and see for yourself instead of using nonsense arguments like always ;)

So no Tirreno, no Paris Nice, no Pais Basco,..... Great way to prepare some sort of a GT rider. At least they could throw some one day races so that he could go on and on with his crazy attacks. Very uninspiring I would say.

EDIT: I just noticed I repeat almost all of Parrulo's comment. Sorry about that:)
