To be fair I think he'll be the leader in the Ardennes, and he did make decent progress last year. But yeah, in terms of GTs the only one with a 'leader' spot open is the Giro, and Uran struggled with the weather there in 2010.

It also makes sense that he'll have to work for both Sky's highest placed GC rider AND Cav. They're a bit short on domestiques for the Tour considering their modest goals.

I still think they'll need to give a couple of riders respite from Cav duty if they really want Wiggins (or Froome) to have decent support in the mountains. Froome (or Wiggins) will obviously be one, and maybe the other will be decided on the basis of climbing form in the build-up races.

Hey, anyone know what Andrew Talansky's season is going to look like? I was expecting a bigger role in Garmin this year for him, but I can't really find info anywhere about when he's starting, what he's targeting, etc. Figured this was the place to ask...

Does anyone know RadioShack's neo pro George Bennett's schedule? So far he has not been lined up for any race IINM, not even a Mallorca Challenge even though he was there. Now he went back to New Zealand so I assume there is nothing coming up too soon... why take on a neo pro if you're not gonna let him race?!

Anyone have any news on Gesink's comeback?

I know he's racing Andalucia, but has he talked about expectations for the season or anything?

Hilly stage, time trial, echelon stage. Looks ok. I wonder if Phil will be able to win this year with the 20km time trial. Stijn Devolder has got to be favorite if he gets back to his old level in my opinion.

From a week or so ago, but Przemyslaw Niemiec on his season.

Ok I wont be a **** like some people and act as if everyone speaks my language:D

Basically he keeps on emphasising how amazing it is to be in a wt team saying he discovered cycling again being in Lampre.

Says he never expected to do anything in Lombardy but when Cunego was doing poorly he just let the chips fall as they may and ended up in a very elite group. Doesnt make too much a deal of it actually, says it was important because it helped Lampre finish ahead of Liqui in WT. Imo he should be like " yes, i beat Gilbert in a monument, AWESOME!!!"

Says for 2012 he hopes to have a good Giro and maybe start the Tour. Wants to take part in olympics for the thrill of it.

Says the race Lamre will give him this year is Giro del trentino. A bit sad imo, should be allowed to lead at least one major race though if hes going to peak for Giro and then hopes to do Tour its difficult to find one to be honest.

Good news is that hes not yet decided on the 2nd part of the calendar. Did the worlds course in junior worlds 1998 so knows the course though says its too early to say what hell do next season.

Hopefully finish in a group with Purito and Basso again:D

You only beat someone when you actually win the race in my opinion(or in Armstrong's case making Boogerd lose the Amstel Gold race :D). Place 2 till last place are all the same for great champions. Unless it's the Olympics.

Like Gadret in the years before Herbert Dupont last year amazed everyone at the Giro with some insane performances including 8th on Zonc, and outclimbing Scarponi Nibali Anton etc on Grossglockner.

Can he like Gadret the year before take this clear talent, pull it all together and make it into something even more special.

That is the aim.

Of course the problem is he is as likely to crash somewhere as Jose Rujano.

Garate mentions he'll ride the Giro for Rabobank. He has 4 Giro top-10s to his name, might be a bit rich to expect a repeat, but he could be a nice climbing duo with Slagter.

ie since Kruiswijk broke out, Rabo are making extra sure they send a weak squad to Italy this year ;)
